The Bungles are a hard out . Couple that with the fact we have a mouthy midget QB who cant see over the LOS and cant progress past his first read . Bails out of the pocket and try's to wing one all the while resembling a fat toddler running down the field . If the Browns cant run they cant win . # 6 Cant win a game a on his own . Once it goes south I'm pretty sure OBJ will act like a retard and throw a fit like a spoiled brat . No i dont feel good about it . trade deadline is coming up time to move some dead weight ! Wish we had Burrogh at QB .
When I look at the schedule, I break it down into quarters. Sixteen total, how do we come out of each set of 4 games? At the beginning of the year, I thought we'd go 2-2 through the first 4 games. We did one better, coming out of the first set at 3-1... On to the next set. Once again, I had my expectations set at 2-2.....As of now, we are 1-1, with a very winnable game this Sunday in Cincinnati, and another the following week when we take on the Raiders in Cleveland. Focus is the key, but I think there is a good chance we can pull off another 3-1 in the second set.... Browns rolling into the second half of the season at 6-2 has a nice ring to it....
Beat the Bengals, and then we go home for a month! Big time opportunities await the Cleveland Browns.
This has become a pivotal game. Cinci isn't a push over anymore, and Stefanski & Co. need to impress on our boys the immense importance this one game can represent. Yeah, we win this and 6 and 2 are there for us, lose and we could be 50 / 50 at the half way point. We have a rare oppty to have a relatively weak schedule of opponents this year, and all it takes is avoiding shooting ourselves. God, how I miss Nick Chubb. He's the security blanket we need right now. Well maybe a safety or two who can still walk.
Nick Chubb might be the best RB in football, or at least in the conversation among the top two or three RB's, and Kareem Hunt isn't far behind....Gotta credit JD. Among the best moves John Dorsey made as Browns GM was drafting Nick Chubb, and rolling the dice on Kareem Hunt.
I think this will be a big "get right" game for the Browns...No Mixon for the Bengals. I think we can harass Burrow into a couple mistakes and win the turnover battle, and a much healthier Baker Mayfield should have plenty of opportunities to gash the Bengals. Expect a big day for Kareem Hunt and the Cleveland offense. Cinci gets a late one to make the score seem closer, but Browns roll 34-24.
Honestly, we might be better off without OBJ. They won’t have to force balls to him to keep him happy. Just go out and play smart football. LETS GO!!
I might have been right.. with Odell 0-5 0TD/1INT W/O Odell 22-23 5TD/0INT, the lone miss was the spike to stop the clock... Before you say it..I know some of those incompletes in the first Qtr came without OBJ
Well, my faith in Baker Mayfield has had a very big boost. He shouldered this one himself and willed his way to victory. I was greatly impressed. He had touch on the ball, he led his receivers, and had confidence in his throws. He had a Browns record 21 straight completions. That was only stopped when he purposely threw an incompletion by spiking the ball to stop the clock. Now just how to figure out a way to phase out his 0-5 start and pretty much the Steelers and Ravens and 2nd half of Indy game performances. More Jekyll and less Hyde, please. As for my second thought.........wouldn't have to score 30+ points a game if they had a better defense than Garrett, Ward and 9 other guys. It's gonna take more than a return by Greedy Williams and Grant Delpit next year to fix. Edit: Next thought.....great big way to step up into their game play opportunities......Rashard Higgins, Harrison Bryant and Donovan Peoples-Jones. These guys delivered in a huge way. And I can't believe Parkey missed a PAT. WTH!!! And the search for a K continues....
It'll be up to Kevin Stefanski to figure out why, with a superstar like Odell, Mayfield can go 0 of 5 with an INT but with afterthought Rashard Higgins and sixth-round pick DPJ, he looks like Drew Brees in his prime. And for the record, I'm not blaming Odell as a "gimme the ball" kinda guy. I think it's part of Mayfield's psyche.
