THE GOOD: The Steelers are 3-0 for the first time since 2010. The Steelers are 2-0 in the AFC. The Steelers can come back when they are down early. Ben Roethlisberger went 23 of 36 for 237 yards 2 TDs 0 INT James Conner rushed for 109 yards and 1 TD on 18 carries Anthony McFarland Jr. carried 6 times for 42 yards. The Steelers defense held the Texans to 29 rushing yards. The Steelers had 5 QB sacks and Mike Hilton had an INT. The Steelers 2nd half defense. Boswell went 2/2 FG and 2/2 XP. Ray McCloud's return game THE BAD: Deshaun Watson completed 19 of 27 passes for 264 yards 2 TDs 1 INT Houston was very much in the game after the 1st half (leading 21-17). Kyle Fairbairn was 3/3 XP. The Steelers secondary is still giving up long pass plays. The Steelers led 17-14 with a little over a minute remaining in the 1st half and ended up behind 21-17 at halftime. Dustin Colquitt's punting. THE UGLY: The Steelers play results in Steelers fans keeping their defibrillators handy. The Steelers will not be able to defeat the upper echelon teams with their play over the last 3 weeks. The Steelers next opponent - the Titans - are looking good at 3-0. The Patriots are scoring points. The "futility bowl" between the Bengals and Eagles ended in a 23-23 tie
Good: Second half defensive adjustments that lead to zero points. Fewer penalties. Bad: Ben’s deep ball this game (good to see he’s slinging it).
Sorry but just because the Titans are 3-0 doesn’t mean they’ve been looking good. They’ve won by a combined margin of 6 points. They’ve beaten the 0-3 Vikings by a point, the 1-2 Jaguars by 3 and the 0-3 Broncos by 2. 3-0 is 3-0 of course, but they certainly are not a team firing on all cylinders either. Still have very little offense outside of Henry, and the Steelers have been very good against the run so far. Stuff Henry and don’t give them short fields and this should be a 2 score victory. So keep them defibrillators charged this week
Just as you pointed out the Titans have not played much in the way of good teams the Steelers run defense has not faced much when it comes to rushing teams. The Broncos, Texans and Giants rank 29th, 31st and 32nd (the Texans were 30th prior to the Steelers game). That being said its good to bs 3-0 even better if the Chiefs score holds.
Feels good! Was just chatting with RR#3 about that. May be short lived, but I'll take it for now! lol
I’m happy with the beginning of the season for sure. Can we improve? Hell yes. But winning while playing into season ready is great. But the Ravens are our big test still for sure x2
Well, I was backpacking so I couldn't watch it except the highlights. Still, lots of good to mention. 3-0 with a Ravens loss. 2nd half D made adjustments and dominated. I hope these guys go out and beat the Titans whenever they play. People are starting to buy into the Steelers. I think they're for real.
