As I enjoy this double of top shelf bourbon on ice I just wanted to say cheers to everyone and thanks for hanging out.
Agreed. Having several more of these and discussing some pigskin with you, Will, and several others here is something I definitely want to be a part of.
After all the years at CBS and now here (total of almost 20 years), I've only met one poster in person. That was @Duff_Beer_Doug and he (and his family) exceeded my expectations.
agreed. Ive met KilkennyDan a couple of times when he was in Boston, a great guy. even better live. anyone comes to Boston and wants to meet for a beer, or many beers, i'm game. double bourbons on ice always welcome as well.
I was born in Connecticut and hope to make a pilgrimage (or two) to the homeland before I croak. I'll be sure to give you fair warning.
great times! The Beanpot and the Sabres at the hockey team from Boston. But the best was meeting your lovely bride and daughter (and telling lies about nephew Jack). I've met others - some seem to be on long term sabbatical. Meeting Larry (Lava) in Vancouver was a real treat. Without exception the real thing has always been much better than the 2D impression that I had. Even when my expectations were high, (like with Matty and Larry) the real person was better. I remember that when someone is getting under my skin.
You all are a part of my life. I feel at home here and its because of all of you. Ive always envisioned a place where we could all get together and tip a few. These have been real strange/tough times lately, but this place (L4SN- thanks, Tim!) has been a great escape and has helped to keep me grounded... probably why i spend so much time hangin around, its fun.
Steelers rule David DeCastro out for Monday night Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be back in the pocket for the Steelers on Monday night, but he won’t have right guard David DeCastro blocking for him. DeCastro missed practice all week with a knee injury and was ruled out by the team on Saturday. Veteran Stefan Wisniewski will replace him and he said earlier this summer that he’s confident that he can handle any job the Steelers need him to do. “I have learned in my years in the NFL be ready for anything,” said Wisniewski during training camp. “I am capable of being a starter in this league. I think I have proven that. “I have started at left guard for two of the last three Super Bowl champions. Obviously, I am capable of doing that.” Wide receiver Diontae Johnson missed Thursday’s practice with a foot injury, but was back the last two days and did not get an injury designation. Roethlisberger rested on Saturday and is also ready to go. NBC
I come here for my football news. Nowhere else. Will is my football news. Thank you, Willie. Much love.
Eagles RB Miles Sanders (hamstring) out for opener vs. WAS Miles Sanders' second season won't start until at least the second game. The Philadelphia Eagles' burgeoning back is out for Sunday's season opener against the host Washington Football Team due to a hamstring injury, the team announced. Sanders was listed as questionable and will not make the trip to the game. Sanders played all 16 games as a rookie in 2019 and led Philadelphia with 818 yards on the ground and was forecast to be a big part of the Eagles' -- and fantasy owners' -- plans. With Sanders out, Boston Scott and Corey Clement will be looked on to step up out of the backfield, but it's an overall bad sign for an Eagles squad that was plagued by injuries to end last year and is in a familiar situation to begin this year. Thus far for the Eagles, standout offensive lineman Brandon Brooks is out for the season, former first-round pick Andre Dillard is also out for the year and Sanders is joined by defensive end Derek Barnett (hamstring), wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) and defensive tackle Javon Hargraves (pectoral/hamstring) as out for the opener.
