Let’s have a one party system. The party would last 24/7 365 and include a wet bar, weed bar, coke bar and a pill bar. Is everyone for the one party system?
I think your points on the AR are a little misleading. There's a reason it's the preferred weapon of mass shooters and also why a lot of hunters wouldn't use it to take down a deer.....yet it gets protected because it's a "hunting rifle". It's not a weapon I would ban...but it's a weapon I would restrict. Yeah we can own a lot of stuff we don't need. My house has 3 TVs that are 75 inches or larger.....I don't need them....I want them. But they can't hurt anyone. Things that can cause harm to mass amounts of people should come with more rules...and rules that make sense. Absolutely spot on with the two party system....it wore out it's welcome a long time ago. The American people can end it if they wanted to. Just gotta get our ends out of our rear ends.
Although I agree 100% that the 2 party system has it’s issues, ending it, unfortunately, isn’t the answer. IMHO, the real reason for for the issues surrounding politics (in addition to having 2 parties) is how politics have evolved via the outside influence that lobbyists, special interest groups and PAC’s have on members of congress and government officials. What needs to change is the hearts of the men and women in public service.
I had a discussion with my son in law that no respectable hunter hunts with an assault-type rifle and then he said that he does, and I replied like I said no respectable hunter hunts with one. As bigrob says they are just another semi-automatic rifle just way cooler. Look I support the 2nd amendment, but I've learned these last three years is that many of us Muricans aren't right in the head. I'm not talking about left and right I'm talking about sane and flat out, out of whack. Over the years too many kids have been prescribed these mind-altering meds now, unlike when I was growing up and nobody was on this shit. How rational is their behavior when they go off of it? What long term effects does it present? It's hard to start a dialog about sensible gun laws when you'll get blowback from not only the NRA, but an even much bigger force, big pharma. If they can deny someone with a felony their 2nd amendment rights, why not someone who's mentally impaired chemically or otherwise? I'm sorry I'm rambling and all over the place, but I'm here right now, so that has to count for something, does it not?
Mental illness is one of the glaring problems that I see tuna. Children and young adults can and do get possession of all kinds of firearms and when their inner demons instruct them to blow up a school, slaughtering other children, who is to blame? Who is the steward for this mindless and incomprehensible butchering of innocents? This seems to be a game of 'pass it on' to me. There is such a lack of responsibility and ownership and yet no one realizes that the onus is on every single person who owns a gun. I wasn't going to do this because it could get ugly but honestly I don't care anymore. A lot of you raised salient points about gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment. Big Rob said, I am anti-gun Rob. I am anti anything that gets innocent people killed. I am anti drunks driving, it's how I lost my family. I am anti child molestation and sexual abuse because I am a victim. I am anti guns because I see a rampant murdering devastation taking place across the States. I said it earlier in this thread but I think it bears repeating. If you are not using your gun to hunt wildlife to feed your family then you do not need a gun. I'm trying to better understand the gun owner mentality. There is one question I have and I'll put it out to everyone here, have you ever been the victim or intended victim of a: 1. House invasion 2. Car jacking 3. Robbery 4. Mugging 5. Assault with a weapon 6. Rape 7. Attempted murder
1. House invasion YES 2. Car jacking NO 3. Robbery YES 4. Mugging YES 5. Assault with a weapon YES 6. Rape NO 7. Attempted murder TECHNICALLY I GUESS
Damnit. I should have mentioned that this question was not directed at you Bww. Jesus. You are a man SO mixed up with bad stuff in life it's no wonder everything happens to you. Thank you though. Your honesty and reality is appreciated.
1. House invasion YES 2. Car jacking NO 3. Robbery YES 4. Mugging YES 5. Assault with a weapon YES (knife) 6. Rape NO 7. Attempted murder NO If only I had been armed on those occasion's all my answers would be no. Getting the idea ??
I am not a gun owner. 1. House invasion - Yes. I was a teenager when my mother's bipolar friend broke in with a knife to kill her. I stopped her without either of us being harmed. Her family (two sons and a husband) were very grateful. They all have a very happy life together, with her having gotten continued treatment (the last I knew). 2. Car jacking - Yes. Unsuccessful. 3. Robbery - Not to my memory 4. Mugging - Not to my memory 5. Assault with a weapon - See 1 6. Rape - Not to my memory 7. Attempted murder - ... See 1, I guess? Edit: My therapist and I have established that there are portions of my life I've just forgotten, for better or worse. There's been some real revelations, since I started therapy. So I reserve the "not to my memory", just in case.
How would having a gun have affected the outcome of these experiences SoCal? And I want to assure everyone on this thread that I am asking questions to get answers and information and not to judge anyone. Except Bww. I will judge the hell outta that one.
1. House invasion - No 2. Car jacking - No 3. Robbery - Yes 4. Mugging - Yes 5. Assault with a weapon -Yes 6. Rape - No 7. Attempted murder - I don't know the actual intent, but my brother was knifed in the back. I have a Mossberg 12 ga. for home defense.
