    i'll be in the minority here, but i think only a handful of players today are exceptional. i think the large majority are good to marginal and the rest stink. i don't think it has anything to do with being bigger and faster or the goalie pad size. i think the talent level has gone down by a large majority. sure you have crosby, mcdavid, ovi, but a lot of middle of the line type players. gretzky would just fine now.

    A 14 year age difference between Henri and brother Maurice, he was only 7 when his brother left home to play pro.
    Considering how rare it was to talk on the phone back then, they hardly even knew each other until they were teamates for 5 years.

    11 Stanley Cups is the most won by any player all-time.

    On April. 1st 1919, the final and deciding game for Lord Stanley was to take place between the Montreal Canadiens and the Seattle Metropolitans.
    The game was cancelled because Canadiens Joe Hall contacted the Spanish flu.
    He ended up dying 5 days later.

    No cup was rewarded.
