Soto is doing real well and in his second full year at 20. Acuna was fine at 20 but not on an mlb roster. Don't know what to say, Vladdy will end up with 20 hrs and over 70 rbis with a .280 BA in his first full year at 20.
Soto isn't in his second full year. he was a sept call up last year. ok so he's having a solid year at 20. good for the Jays.
I think one day he may have the potential to hit 50 hrs, not sure if Soto has that ceiling. Sure the media covered him more because of who is dad was, overhyped? No
I was at one game, he was about 15 feet away from me at third. He turned around in a heavy spanish accent. "Hey ju tell yor buddy the catfeesh he missed out on having me on hees fantasy team, too bad, maybe next year".
he played in 116 games last year. maybe he was a june call up? he's killing it this year. vlady has a a decade or more years left to be a stud. scary what he's doing now at 20. if he was american, he would be in college/NCAA killing Division 1 pitching. that's scary for his future. i see him being a perennial MVP candidate and All-Star.
Vladdy has the power, when he hits his stride, 24 to 32, look out. He probably won't be a blue jay when this contract expires because some club like the dodgers or rangers will give him super stupid money that the jays never match. 20 hrs this season, 30 next and then who knows, all bets are off. What's surprising many is that he's bringing his average above .280, he won't beat out too many grounders. Power hitters don't usually hit for high averages, the fact that he has a good eye at the plate is a bonus.
he got hit in the head. came out for the protocol. hope he's ok. i need him for the last fantasy weekend of the season.
