I think I'll leak a Tweet to Tony Grossi (from an unnamed source) that they're about to hire Robert Saleh as Asst Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator.

I just hope we've seen enough of Steve Wilks...

My preference is Wade Phillips, but if the Browns decided on Joe Woods, I think he would be a solid hire as well....

My gut says it's gonna be Woods....

    On a brighter note . . .

Bluez' buddy, Art Modell, has been denied entrance into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I heard that on the radio today and just couldn't stop smiling....:)

Did Model ever do anything HOF worthy? Moving in the middle of the night doesn't count.

Good lord, only gid....FWIW, Moving his team to Baltimore is most likely the ONLY reason he is not in the HoF.... But seriously man, you should probably do your own research on that guy before you come to the Cleveland Browns board and ask for someone to cite his HoF worthy credentials....I mean C'MON MAN!

When did he buy the Browns

Art took control of the Browns in 1961.

Putting owners into the HOF is the dumbest thing.

Congratulations on being really, really, really, ridiculously wealthy... here's a bronze bust to commemorate that success. The fact that guys like Jerry Jones and Robert "Hug-n-Tug" Kraft will end up there one day disgusts me.

It's long (8:00), but incredibly worth it:

I had the temerity to go on the Ravens board and challenge the sanctimonious spin they had on Shithead Modell. I was, uhmm, excoriated for stating what was contrary to the party line.

The thing is this, I did not have to rely on the media for knowledge of his move from Cleveland. I had first hand source knowledge.

Modell was a scumbag. That is beyond a doubt for anyone with the complete story.

I cannot fathom the depth of the pain he inflicted on Cleveland and on Browns fans. There was incessant chatter of the “inevitability” that the Bills would leave Buffalo. Fortunately Buffalo had Ralph Wilson and not Douchebag - RW even engineered the stadium deal that made it extremely difficult for a prospective owner from even discussing a possible move. RW could have made a lot more money for his family, but he resisted - even upon death - from forsaking Buffalo. So, I cannot feel the pain, but I did have a sense for the anguish you experienced.

As a Bills fan, I have never been a Browns fan. But, this event is only one of the reasons that I am forever a fan of Browns fans.

Probably the #1 reason we don't have a full staff built out, yet.

Gotta believe it's someone from the remaining teams, they're after or we would have heard something.

I'd have really loved having Saleh as our HC, but now he's gonna have to wait out a year before another HC opening is available.

That said, the Shanahan tree seems to be the tree of choice these days, and who could argue. Jimmy G throws 8 passes and goes to the Super Bowl. That's some outstanding coaching and game planning.

Guess I'm still holding out hope they hire Saleh as Asst. Head Coach / Defensive Coordinator.

Between this and retaining Stump Mitchell, Nick Chubb should post at least 2,020 yards in 2020.

DISCLAIMER: Assuming Kevin Stefanski doesn't go full Freddie Kitchens.

I couldn't care less how many rushing yards Chubb gets. Or how many receiving yards Beckham gets. Or how many passing yards Mayfield gets.

The only thing that matters is how many wins the team gets.

Not for nothing, but... nine teams had 2,000+ rushing yards in 2019. Their records:

    1. Baltimore 14-2*
    2. San Francisco 13-3*
    3. Tennessee 9-7*
    4. Seattle 11-5*
    5. Dallas 8-8
    6. Minnesota 10-6*
    7. Indianapolis 7-9
    8. Buffalo 10-6*
    9. Houston 10-6*

    * denotes Playoff appearance

These teams also played good defense.
