I know blang already broke the news, but this doesn't pass without a thread of its own. If im brutally honest, the biggest slight in terms of HOF from back then is Jay Hilgenberg. Its an absolute friggin crime that guy isn't already inducted. But a fairly close second is Covert, who by not getting in was slighted in his own right. This is the right decision. Member of the All 80s Decade team. Career that would've been longer but for injury(back I think). And if you saw him play, an outstanding LT who we could only dream of seeing in a Bears uniform these days. Congrats Jim Covert!!
Apparently he was the only member of the All 80s team who was not yet in the HOF. Edit: not including special teamers. Covert was the biggest slight but now that he's in I agree it's Hilgenberg. Question is who will be next? Hilgenberg, Hester, other? Briggs and Peanut are probably long shots. My money is on Hester but would love to see it be Hilgenberg.
