I personally like the Divisional set-up the way it is. Fangio just expressed his opinion and he is waaaay in the minority. He cant hang in his division with the Chiefs so he thinks the Broncos would benefit if they went by conference standings instead.

In a conference standing scheme, the Broncos would be only 1 game out of the final playoff spot and could still make the top 6 even with a losing record, so that still makes no sense. He just cant hang with his own divisional opponents and thinks changing things up would help... I and a lot of others disagree.

I would like it how it is but tweak it a bit. Division title gets you a spot. It doesn't get you a home game. Also you can get a bye as a wildcard. Maybe add in a caveat where the first tiebreaker is division title(or right after H2H). So 2 teams from same division can get a bye.

Winning the division should get you the home games. No byes for the wildcards, they’re lucky to even be there.

You young dudes and your want to ruin everything that is good and holy is completely unacceptable.

I'm fine with how it is as well. But teams like possibly the 49ers this year and the Chargers last year won the most games in their conference tied only with a division rival. Not only do they not get a bye but they gotta travel for that extra game on the road.

Joe you would have hated baseball back in the day. A team with a barely over .500 record could get in over a team with 102 victories. The Braves beat out the Giants for the NLW by winning 103 while the Giants sat home with their 102 wins.

Oh I know all about that, although despite the Jays' World Series titles being the earliest thing I personally remember about baseball there was no way in hell I knew about the format at the time.

They had a NLE and NLW winner back then, no wild cards. Being in the division with the Braves was like being in the Patriots division.

Go WAAAAYYYY back (like 100 years) to when you had just 8 teams in each league, with no wildcards. Each league winning immediately advanced to the world's series. A number of times a team that won 100 games (out of 154) didn't even make the playoffs.

That happened to the Giants 102 behind the Braves 103 NLW

yeah i think they did that as close as the 60's as the movie *61 mentions winning the AL and winning the pennant. i think they had 8-12 teams then. this is what i mentioned with my post about this earlier this morning.

    Cardinals waive Terrell Suggs...

Terrell Suggs opted to go home when he signed with the Cardinals as a free agent this offseason, but the homecoming won’t end with Suggs taking a final bow in front of the Arizona crowd this Sunday.

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced that the team waived Suggs on Friday. The league’s other 32 teams will be able to make a claim on Suggs and add him to their roster next week.

Moving to another team appears to be of interest to Suggs. Kingsbury said the decision to part ways was made after conversations with Suggs about allowing the veteran to find another team while the Cardinals look at younger players.

Suggs had 37 tackles, 5.5 sacks and four forced fumbles for the Cardinals this season.

Any speculation about Suggs moving elsewhere will include some mention of Baltimore given Suggs’s long run as a member of the Ravens defense. They’re at the back end of the waiver order, however, and another team may want to bring in an experienced hand for the final weeks of the season.

One of the centerpieces to the Bears defense will return to play Chicago's archrival on Sunday.

Bears defensive lineman Akiem Hicks was activated off injured reserve on Saturday, the team announced, and will play Sunday against the rival Packers in Green Bay.

Hicks dislocated his left elbow on Oct. 6 in a London loss to the Raiders and was subsequently put on injured reserve.

In four starts this season, Hicks tallied six tackles and a sack.

Last season, which was his third in Chicago and the third in a row in which he played and started all 16 games, he earned his first Pro Bowl trip as he totaled 55 tackles, 7.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

In a corresponding move with Hicks' activation, the Bears placed tight end Ben Braunecker on injured reserve. The team also announced that wide receiver Taylor Gabriel and offensive lineman Bobby Massie would not travel with the team to Green Bay.

Dak Prescott won the toss and said kick instead of defer so the Rams get the ball to start both halves.
