Second-worst scoring offense, worst rushing defense, one of the worst rushing offenses. Browns should be able to run Chubb/Hunt all day for big gains and come away with the easy (even for this team) win. Line's at 8.5 and I think that's about half of what it should be. Browns by 18.
Not convinced this team has the mental fortitude to shrug off losing last week, and not take the easy excuse laden path: QB is hurt, LT and DE are iffy, Odel is distracted by media reports of being trade bait, and our coach has no balls and too many tees. I hope the team is in a better mindset than I am. IMO if they don't win these next two, there's nothing to talk about but how they've failed. Beating Baltimore is the only thing they could do to change the narrative of this season, IMO
I can't remember the last time we went into a late season home game against a team that we thought we would beat when the schedule first came out and still believe we will beat on gameday. Then again . . . We haven't beat them yet. {edit} Probably should have said "divisional" team.
Looks like we all see it the same way. I'm expecting big days from both Chubb and Hunt....Browns roll, 30-13
I just heard the funniest and true comment by the local morning crew on the radio. They were discussing the Browns/Bengals and the one guy goes into all the news chaos with Odell, how Chubb leads the league in rushing yards, how the QB and O-line suck, and how dysfunctional this team is. "Just shut up and run the ball. They're a very good running team. Just run it and play tough DEF since you don't have an All-Star at QB. Every single week it's something with this team. They're always in the news for some sort of dysfunctional aspect. At least the Lions suck quietly." Apologies to Lions fans.......I have a soft spot for them, since they remind me of my Browns. And we share the 0-16 record.
Back in the days before I retired and had a 45 minute commute twice a day, I was one of those old farts with a premium Bose radio in my car but listened to AM sports talk radio on my way to and from work. I would routinely switch between WTAM and ESPN Cleveland and occasionally even use the FM band for 92 the fan. Every one of those cesspools of the airways were always trying to out-diss the Browns more than the other two. It got to the point where I could predict which blowhard from which station would yammer on and on about a "report from Berea" (typically from an un-named source). The sad thing is: they would talk about shit so incessantly, I think they even started to believe it themselves. It's now reached a point where they think Mary Kay Cabot and Tony Grossi are credible.
Overall, just another game where it doesn't feel like we celebrated a win when it was over. This team tried like hell to lose and it does feel more like Cincinnati lost this versus the Browns winning it. The unusual happened -- we caught every break from the refs. The game itself was bracketed by the report Odell wants out of Cleveland and the offense is in "dysfunction" in the pre-game and Baker attacking the training staff post-game.
