Axe - how can you of all people say anything about bad losses? Your team is giving any sliver of hope to the Eagles to win the division three weeks in a row now! It's only because the Eagles suck this year and suck worse than Dallas is why they haven't passed Dallas in the standings.

Because he has been there so long garret is actually second in all time wins for the cowboys.

He is 5th in winning percentage and actually ahead oh Johnson how scary is that. Though much of that has tomdomwith johnsons 1-15 season.

How can you of all people say a team that has a winning record while playing in a division that has Green Bay and Minnesota (and a Lions team that beat Philly) wouldn't fare better in what's a HISTORICALLY bad NFC East?

You're making my point for me - Dallas sucks, the Eagles suck, the Giants suck, and Redskins suck. So exactly HOW wouldn't Chicago fare better...???

That's not how I recall that conversation. I did not state the Eagles weren't good. I responded when you cast aspersions on the Bills and claimed that was an obvious win for Philly. The final outcome, first, has the benefit of hindsight, and second, in no way offsets my assertion that the Bills game should not be counted as an Eagles win.

We talked about this in person in Detroit. You should remember that I do not bet on sports.

Lastly to: "don't pile on the Eagles". I'll respond this way. You are perhaps the HARSHEST critics of Philly sports teams on L4S. However, no one has granted you exclusive rights to criticize Philly's teams. I don't view objective observations as "piling on". Otherwise, the Buffalo Bills record* has nothing (nothing!) to do with my comment about the NFC East. (* If the Bills record of 9-3 were germane, it would bolster my claim that Philly should not have assumed a win against them.)

In the end, a team is what their record says they are.

Sorry Cstfish. It seems I've started quite the fire. I'm just making an off the cuff comment about the ream records and the fact that the Bears beat up on the current east leader. No slight to the Eagles.

Who the F cares Cat? Eagles are clearly what their record are up to this point. Be happy they get the opportunity to prove they are more than that. Injuries and other inconsistencies hurt. Guys are coming back now. Eagles either shape up and hopefully become a force with a respectable 9-7 record heading into the playoffs (most likely way to make it) or they continue to fall flat and are out as a poor team before the playoffs or in the 1st round.

We think the Eagles should be a better team, well I'm thankful they get the chance still. They even still have a chance to be a top 6 team despite the division title getting them the spot.

I never said those wins "don't count."

ok Eagles are 2-2 against the NFC North this year. I guess it must be pretty hard then? And how many SB have come from the NFC East? It's over 10! Not too shabby!

People often forget this, but in January 2008, Jason Garrett visited and interviewed with the Ravens. They also made him an offer which he eventually turned down. I guess the organization lucked out a bit by instead going with some Special Teams Coach in Philadelphia.

No excuses. The better team that day won. Doesn’t mean if they met again the result would be the same though.

Dan, you didn't exactly praise the Eagles the week they played Buffalo. I can't find the exact post, but you said the Bills will win because Philly wasn't that good.

I can't recall last week let alone a conversation two years ago. I was willing to bet $1 ?

You're right, Cat. A team-by-team comparison clearly shows that NFC East leader Dallas is better than NFC North leader Green Bay, the second-place Eagles are demonstrably better than second-place Vikings, and the Redskins and Giants are better than the Bears and Lions.

We're talking about RIGHT NOW, not what happened two years ago, 10 years ago, 25 years ago.

Exactly right. Lotta wisdom in the adage "sometimes the best moves are the ones you DON'T make."

What? You said the NFC East was terribly bad. Eagles have a SB 2 years ago and the Giants have 2 SBs in the last 15 years. Not bad.

  16. Catfish Guest

yikes. That blows. I wasn’t a fan of him leaving. Not a fan of Reich leaving. Schwartz can go. Hahahaha

  17. Catfish Guest

until Schwartz and Pederson are ousted, they won’t contend again. If Pederson can’t beat Miami, how can he beat anyone else ? He doesn’t run the ball enough. He loses to bad teams a lot. His DC has no business in the NFL.

It IS bad, Cat - on the verge of historically bad.

WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR SUPER BOWL FROM 2017 (other than you, obviously)? What does that have to do with the 2019 season?

Cat, the Eagles might be salvageable to be good to great because they still have a big core of the SB team (IDK WTF the Giants ancient titles with no starters still on the team has to do with anything though) but right now they are playing like crap and the NFC East IS historically bad. If the Redskins lost this week and the Cowboys and Giants next week then they tie the record for worst performance by a division EVER.

Also my God you defend this but then shit on Pederson and say he should be ousted already. WHICH ONE IS IT!
