- opening kick out of bounds - shanked punt (neither of those his fault, but they are special teams plays) - 40 yard punt return allowed - returner that can’t be coached to run north and south - penalized for wrong amount of personnel - on a fucking 48 yard extra point. Every God damn week there’s something. This guy is a total train wreck - fire his ass!!!
Yep, and also that every week at least once they come within a whisker of having a punt blocked. That's why the one that was blocked by the Chargers wasn't a fluke. Its lucky there haven't been more. Truth is he's not the only coach who should already be gone. Heistand should've been fired by now as well. That guy still has a job because of reputation, nothing else.
2nd in punt return average 2nd in kick off return average. Middle of the pack in just about every other category. Do you guys even remember the special teams under Fox? Fix the fucking offense. Everything else will look better.
Rob you're slipping back into your old habit of arguing over everything. You were better when you started picking your targets more carefully. This one? Very bad move. Saying its ok to be shit on STs as long as the Offense gets better? Mega dumb.
I’m saying the special teams haven’t been shit. Not when it comes to the coaching aspect. Missed kicks and shanked punts are individual fuck ups. Out side of like 2 punt returns the coverage units have been solid. The return units have been better than solid, ranking in the top of the league. You can’t even remember who blocked the punt. It was New Orleans not the Chargers.
Ha, were you going for bitchy high school cheerleader with this comment. Nailed it. Yes we should def not associate individual performance with coaching in any way. Well, unless it can be spun into whatever you are arguing at that given moment then I guess, maybe? Can we partly blame ST's for the loss against the Raiders? Considering the D had actually gotten off the field only for some tool to run into the kicker on a play they shouldn't have been anywhere near the kicker. Individual performance rob or are coordinators still held accountable for their players not playing with discipline and giving away crippling penalties? Its great that Cohen ranks so high for punt return average. Don't think that includes all the times he lets the ball bounce tho and it costs them 15-20yards. Think maybe they could "coach him up" on that seeing how its happened quite a lot? Btw maybe you can help me and my memory out, when did the Bears last block a punt? Have they even had one under Tabor?
Hey, idea... since it’s all essentially “individual fuck ups” why even have coaches??? Would save a hell of a lot of $$$ !!!
