Peeping the team ranks... this should be a 35-10 kinda performance. That's honestly what it'll take to make me feel good about the direction of this team, especially in light of last week's mess.
The Browns come into this game missing some pieces due to suspension and injury. The Dolphins, while they have a poor W/L record, have been playing much better as of late. Give Ryan Fitzpatrick 3 to 4 seconds to throw the ball and he will hurt you. This game could be a lot closer than we wish.
I am very happy with the game the Browns played. They didn't take the game for granted, they came to play. Our "big guys" came up big: Jarvis, OBJ, Chubb, Hunt, Mayfield, and Ruchardson played his best game as a Brown. Shoebert had yet another big game. Only disappointment was Siebert missing a kick. Gotta get their game face on again for the trip to Pittsburgh.
Oh, I forgot to mention the guy I'm most happy for: Freddie. Take a bow Freddie, you shepherded your team through a very trying week of adversity and kept them focused on the prize. Well done.
I agree with this . . . to a point. They came out to start the game focused, deliberate and playing up to their potential. (Against a very bad team) But that focus seemed to evaporate in the 2nd half. I don't think I can throw shade on Freddie for that. But, for some odd reason, these guys can't seem to put together 60 continuous minutes of solid football. I think I'll just chalk it up to "next man up syndrome ". Anyway . . . Kudos to Freddie for how they started the game - all things considered.
Agreed... the lulls we see in this team -- especially on offense -- are concerning. They seemed to be checked out when they went up 28-0 (easy to do, I admit) but they had to actually re-focus their efforts in the second half after Miami got 17 unanswered. It's definitely too early for this team to be thinking past the first or second quarter once the game seems over.
