A stand-your-ground law establishes a right by which a person may defend one's self or others against threats or perceived threats, even to the point of applying lethal force, regardless of whether safely retreating from the situation might have been possible. Law you quoted doesn’t require a gun. Lethal force which Garrett used a weapon that could have been lethal.
One of the absolutely lamest defenses I've heard. Also, before y'all use such absurd examples, I'd ask you to take a look at Ohio's stand your ground laws as it relates to non-firearms.
Anyway... evergreen this thread for the next match-up, but I'm done talking about Mason getting Rudolph'd, especially with obviously-biased detractors. Circle the wagons around Myles because if you don't wear orange and brown, you don't matter. We'll see if the league believes they overreacted once the appeal is settled.
First of all your brought in the stand your ground law and you even referenced Florida. You used the absurd example. You instigated and I ended it. I guess you should have just stopped there. Here is what I found about Ohio stand your ground law: Self-defense laws vary from state to state. Certain states require a person to retreat before using force in self-defense. ... In Ohio, there's a legal presumption that a person acts in self-defense when he or she uses force against anyone who unlawfully enters his or her residence or vehicle. Again they were not in Garrett’s residence nor his vehicle. I’m not defending anyone or making excuses for what happened. I’m only responding to your reference about stand your ground in Florida.
Meh, not a lot of fun around here anymore. Too many people taking things far too seriously. I still enjoy some DMs with a couple of the old school CBS guys and, like I said, read a bit here and on the Steelers and Ravens boards, but it's pretty rare I consider posting. I've written out a few posts over the past year or so and deleted them before hitting the Post button...just no desire for the drama.
Understood. I just prefer not to be deprived of your infinite wisdom and insight. (Even if it is misguided and tainted by black and yellow)
Well, you know how to get ahold of me if you ever need some black and gold (accurate and correct) wisdom old man! haha Always good chatting with you and I really do like quite a few of the regulars here. Just some grate on me and I'm getting too old for the headaches! lol
*musically* Rudolph's a red-nosed racist... am I'm glad that he got hit. And if you're still trying to defend him, then just like him you're a piece of... *music stops*
It’s odd that he didn’t mention that when interviewed after the game or any other point until yesterday.
