The Ravens extend Willie Snead a year for 6M. This likely clears 2.2M in incentives off the cap and potentially gives them some cap space which could be in preparation for a trade.

At the same time, I don't love the idea of giving Snead more money and keeping him around for that much. Do you realize that prior to this deal he was taking up the 4th most cap space on the team? The 4th most cap space and he doesn't even have 250 yards on the year on top of all the drops.

Trade deadline is tomorrow I think. If it clears up 2.2M, that still outs our total available space under 6M. I'm still curious about who we could be possibly trading for. They may just want the extra cap space

Yeah it may just be to get some breathing room. If I were guessing on a trade name, maybe it would be Beasley from the Falcons assuming they eat salary. It's tough because out of what's floating around players either would cost far too much draft currency like with the Jags, cost too much actual money, or be too old AND cost too much money.

I also can't believe the Giants traded FOR a player!

I see the Ravens have designated Iman Marshall to return from the IR, so does this signal that Jimmy is potentially on the trade block for a CB needy team?

Are we in the market for trading a Hayden Hurst for Yannik deal? Would we look to trade for Yannick and then sign him long term? I would sign for that deal I think. I young talented pass rusher locked up for a longer period of time to pair with Judon. With the emergence of Andrews, Hurst is expendable as trade capital and getting a high end guy for a high end guy may be the way to eliminate us giving up day 1 and 2 draft picks.

I hope we don't trade Jimmy assuming he's back and healthy. This defense needs all the help it can get, and Smith certainly makes us better. I didn't understand the Iman move when they did it in the preseason, and I still don't understand it now. He's a rookie who has no game experience and hasn't been practicing. We are going to have to cut someone to eventually put him on the roster, and then what? I mean I have to imagine he's inactive on game days. It just seems weird.

Well, we didn't trade for anyone and I'm kind of glad we didn't. First, we aren't really sitting on a ton of cap space this season, even with the Snead extension. 2nd, as great as a pass rusher would have been, we know EDC wouldn't want to give up a 1st or 2nd, since he said not having a 2nd last draft was rough. I also wouldn't trade Jimmy Smith. He's injured practically every season, but the difference in this defense with and without him every single year is ridiculous. Give Wink a healthy and up to speed Jimmy Smith, along with Peters and Humphrey and I bet he just blitzes all day to make up for the lack of a true pass rusher. Teams can only send 5 guys to catch a pass at most, and we should have 3 guys that can cover on an island.

Honestly I feel like we fans (not just Ravens fans, but NFL fans) were played for complete patsies on the trade deadline. The media just completely oversold the idea of trades for clicks, follows, and TV views. They were running trade articles even today with an hour or so left on the deadline, and nothing happened anywhere in the league. I honestly feel like we were all lied to more than anything and helped line some pockets.

I just brought back nearly a pound (14 oz plus some smalls - edibles - hashish, etc) from Qbc. The US border was a breeze. But I was nearly pulled over leaving the town where I made my purchases. I’m driving down the road and pass a side street in town and I noticed a yellow side reflector. Being cautious I slowed down to just under the 40km/h limit. A car suddenly appears in my rear view. It’s dark out and I can’t make out the car behind me. I said to my gf, there’s a car behind us, not sure if it’s a cop or a tail (just bought $1400+). I put on cruise control. About a minute or so later, the car hits it’s lights and the “boop-boop-boop”. I’m like “Holy Shit!” I put my signal on to pull over (prepare to spin the biggest bullshit story I could wing) and the fucking cop car speeds past us and boogies on down the road. My heart stopped beating for a solid 5 seconds, I swear! I asked my gf if she was ok. She says “no”, and holds her hand out and it’s shaking like Michael J Fox at a meet and greet. I said, “Its ok, I need to pull over so I can dump the shit out of my pants.” Although possession is legal in Canada, there are limits and we were WAY OVER. Plus, we had just made the purchases and didn’t have time or the materials to secure them. Cheech & Chong may as well have been driving. The following day, we secured our load and passed into the US with no issues. Very pleasant border agent. Chatty. Friendly.

Oddly enough... when we entered Canada, the agent asked us if we had cannabis. I said, “Excuse me?” He repeated “Cannabis.” I looked at him as if he were mad, said, “No”. Which wasn’t completely false. We had a couple of pens with oil, but no “cannabis”, as in the plant/bud itself.
