Crazy Crextin’s Pre Game Mad Musings... Well here we are Lounge Houndz fresh off a bye week going to Foxborough to face the GOAT (and it’s NOT that whimp Brady). In order to even have a chance to win this game the Browns will need to play more like a “team” not just a collection of talented individuals. I do believe that the Browns can win this weekend. They will have to play practically nearly flawless in order to achieve that goal. In order to do that they will have to overcome several challenging tasks... Challenging Task #1 is going to be eliminating stupid mistakes. The Browns are nearly leading the league in penalties and yards against. I can’t remember when the Browns played so much undisciplined football. Challenging Task #2 is going to be stopping the run, something the Browns are struggling mightily with (giving up 154yds/game average). While NE isn’t lighting up in the run game averaging < 100yds/game. NE does have a solid stable of backs that can catch passes and run. As with any game plan forcing NE into 3rd and long hopefully the pass rush can get through to Brady. Challenging Task #3 is going to be run the football, run the football, run the football. Chubb is averaging over 5yds/ carry and 100yds/game. The last time the Browns beat NE is when the White Rhino bowled NE over for 180+yds. This could prove a daunting task with the recent changes in the O-line. Challenging Task #4 is going to be keeping the QB upright. This could also prove a daunting task with the recent changes in the O-line. Let alone Baker’s propensity to bail early. GAMES ARE WON OR LOST IN THE TRENCHES Challenging Task #5 is going to be the QB with the most int’s thrown vs the Defense that has collected the most int’s this year. Turnovers, especially redzone turnovers are KILLING the Browns this year. The Browns can’t afford to be giving NE and Brady a short field to work with. Challenging Task #6 is going to be Freddie vs the GOAT. Freddie’s play calling and game preparation and management has been… let’s just say less than stellar and leave it at that. GO BROWNS!
It’s gonna be a wet sloppy field tomorrow. I live about 15 minutes from Gillette and the forecast is ugly for tomorrow at 4. Lots of raking today. Bringing Ward and Williams back is huge. I feel like it changes the entire D. Cleveland will be hard pressed if they lose the turnover game. Obviously I’m hoping Mayfield throws multiple picks. You can run on Pats D.
