Ends his season and likely his Bears tenure.

Just too many injuries. But I will always have really good memories of this man.

kruetz apparently called him out on twitter and said that if he was injured it was time to let the Bears know, so maybe he was keeping it from them? I dunno he also told reporters he wasn’t injured. I could see him trying to play through stuff but it’s clear he wasn’t right.

For this year it sadly (for him) makes the team better.

agree totally that I will always have good memories, he’s been a bright spot and a leader on the team for a damn long time.

What with. He finished the Raiders game right? Maybe im just drunk and conspiratorial but seems convenient. Not that its the wrong thing for Long to not be out there. Just a little odd.

I wish Leno played with 5% of the mean streak Long had in his prime.

As badly as he looked this season it was obvious that something is very wrong with him physically, be it either injury or simply not able to play football anymore. It's being reported that it's a "hip" injury. Even if it's not, the move to IR is probably best for both Long and the Bears o-line.

Sad to see his tenure end this way and no one deserved a ring on the current roster more than Long.

Last week, local sports radio talked about him like it was his career’s funeral because the injuries and Father Time catching up to him.

Coward getting the 1st team reps.

I saw this point made on another message board and it could be true......what if Daniels struggles have been because he's playing next to a mostly ineffective Kyle Long and working harder because of it? If Coward can just be average....it might make Daniels job easier.

Coward is a converted defensive end that is still learning how to play on the offensive side of the line.
