A far less significant "milestone" - 4 months ago today I tore my hamstring (off the bone) while running, and crash landed on my shoulder - dislocated the shoulder; suffered a Hill-Sachs fracture; tore the rotator cuff, labrum, and a couple smaller, ancillary muscles at the arm/shoulder socket; and dislocated the long head of the bicep.

Yesterday was my first day back at the gym, a little more than two months after surgery. Can't do weights (yet), but can do resistance bands to continue to improve range of motion and strength.

    Felt good to be back!

That's frustrating when the spirit is strong but the body is weak... Congratulations to you Axe, I'm glad to hear that you're getting back into the fitness game!

omg that sounds painful and awful Axe. glad you're ok? jeez. when i think of something coming off the bone, i think of steak or chicken. i can't imagine something inside of me coming off the bone. ouch.

When you blow a hamstring it’s very painful. Mine made a popping sound that the first baseman I was running close to heard. If I wasn’t in so much pain I would have joked with him about that jet breaking the speed of sound.

It was definitely painful. Fortunately, the dislocated shoulder and all other shoulder damage that occurred about 3/4 second later took away from that pain.

It must have been a bitch to get around. The hamstring is a hard injury to deal with, I couldn’t imagine what you dealt with in having both.

The walk from the train to the office (about 3/4 mile) was a bitch the first week or so.

    Speaking of fitness goals...
    I'm thinking:
HOU @ KC 55 - taking the OVER
PHI @ MIN 44 - taking the OVER
NO @ JAX 44.5 - taking the OVER
    DAL @ NYJ - taking Dallas -7
TEN @ DEN 37 - taking the OVER

    @BearsWillWin you are a jerk.
Obviously you weren't hit on the head often enough with a frying pan when you were growing up. I can fix that for you...

    Wooden spoon. A lot.

Ditto... the thing that made my mother start grounding me instead of taking swings with handy objects. The breaking of the wooden spoon. To her credit... no head shots though. I know, right?

That explains the behaviours that I've seen here.

See that's where your mothers went wrong. Getting hit with a wooden spoon is laughable. Getting whacked repeatedly by a cast iron skillet is a real game-changer ...
