    Hello everyone,

I thought I might start the season off with a kickoff thread for the first game and some thoughts and expectations for the first game.

    I expect:
    1. The Ravens to win the game. The Dolphins certainly seem like a dumpster fire this year and they have cleaned house and gotten rid of a bunch of talent. They are clearly rebuilding and I don't think they will be very competitive.
    2. The Ravens to run the bejesus out of the ball. I expect 40+ rushing attempts mostly based on game situation. I expect we will be up and just impose our will with the rushing attack.
    3. Ingram, Edwards and Hill to have robust numbers.
    4. Hollywood to have a splash play or 2.
    5. The defense to handle their business and make it SEEM like the passrush is ok. (My take is that it is not ok and will be a major issue in weeks 3,4,5)

My prediction is Ravens 27 Dolphins 10.

I cant wait to see in Lamar airs it out a little bit... if he tries to, it might open the ground game even more. Go Ravens !

I'm sad I won't get to catch the opener, but I'll check out the highlights later to at least get some sense of what went on.

This is going to be fun. They have no clue who has the ball, and the hesitation is ripping this front 7 of the dolphins in the opening series.

Ravens are up 28-0 in the 2nd. Lamar is dropping in bombs like they are candy. 3TD passes already, 2 to Hollywood, one of which was a beauty of a pass that went 83 yards, and the last one to Willie Snead. Mark Ingram ripped off a 50 yard run on the first play of the game. Needless to say the Dolphins weren't ready for us.

I'm at the game, the Dolphins defense has been confused. After those first 2 TDs by Hollywood and Ingram running on them, they don't know what to do and it's evident.

They seem more focused on keeping Lamar in the pocket than anything, and that's getting them killed.

Franchise record 42 points in a half by the Ravens
