LBs had the biggest roster turnover from last year and rightfully so, especially since the MLBs were subpar. DBs was the next highest roster turnover. Every other position had minimal or no changes.
Had a strong camp and good preseason. And the $$$ they’ve already given him might have factored into decisions. And he is a starting gunner on punts, so he may have the DHB roster spot
Thanks for the reply. I figured out that's who you must've meant yesterday. I had completely forgotten about Freddy.
I read there's still a chance Horton makes the 53 man roster after some moves by COB Monday. Hope so. Another weapon and ST talent. I have a feeling we are going to not just defeat but embarress the Cobra Kai during our first game this season, signalling a new sheriff in town wearing black and gold. Fans of other NFL teams - you have been warned.
https://steelersdepot.com/2019/09/2019-steelers-practice-squad-tracker-updating/ updated PS ... real thing tomorrow ... if we do end up with this list of guys our 2nd Christmas in September has come in. What a great list of names we've heard impress all camp long.
Oh yeah Tech ... for those of us seeing Holton either the last PS spot or possibly on the 53 ... https://steelersdepot.com/2019/08/holton-headed-for-hurried-turnaround/ https://steelersdepot.com/2019/09/s...s-for-2019-nearly-dictate-addition-of-6th-wr/ Where there's hope there's potential ...
I think either Layne or Abenjihi will go on injured reserve to return and Holton will be put on the roster.
WR - Horton to practice squad ... that feels a little bit like a mistake. I think he should be on the team. He is good at ST too, not just a receiver. We will need all the firepower we can get in NE. Does this mean nobody is going on IR? There are one or two players I would gladly drop off the roster to get Horton onto the roster.
I think the Holton move may have something to do with adding another TE to their 53 man roster. They need another TE more than they need a ST/WR guy.
Guess they feel ole brick hands Grimble and the rookie Gentry aren't enough to spell relief for the Vanimal. Personally, I'd role with those three and see how it panned out but they are the experts, not me. Holton really flashed on ST and at WR this preseason. It would be helpful imo to have him come in some during games and provide another look. For examples: another look for which the NE defense must account. I can't believe it is now less than a week before our beloveds take the field. Less than three days until the NFL's first game of the season on Thursday night. Less than three weeks until everyone starts to realize the Browns are over-rated. (kidding, Lyman, kidding) ........ it will take at least half a season for everyone to realize that. This time of year I feel like I am playing with "house" money as far as entertainment is concerned. HERE WE GO
Might want to wait until after the Steelers play before we ramp up that smack talking. I know it’s hard to resist after the Browns were crowned division champs in July, but at the end of the day it’s one game and that offense will come alive eventually. Losing your top 2 left tackles before halftime tends to have a negative effect and they were in it until the 4th. But to your point, they’re the same ole Browns until they prove otherwise. I fully expect them to push for a playoff spot at this point.
