Lions expected to meet with agent for Darius Slay, Damon Harrison this week

Agent Drew Rosenhaus was in Atlanta on Wednesday and his visit ended with a contract extension for linebacker Deion Jones.

Rosenhaus is now set to move on to Detroit for discussions about two other clients. Cornerback Darius Slay and defensive tackle Damon Harrison both skipped voluntary and mandatory work during the offseason program as they look for new deals with the team.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that Rosenhaus will meet with the Lions this week about both players. Slay said in June that “time will tell” if he will report to training camp without a new deal while Harrison has not sent any signals about his plans. Lions veterans are due to report to camp on July 24.

Both players have two years left on their current contracts and that’s earlier than teams generally like to entertain thoughts of redoing deals. Slay and Harrison may be banking on their importance to the team’s defense leading to a different outcome and this week’s meeting should shed more light on how things will play out.

yeah bc the thief was the hotel manager! May left the contents in his hotel room safe. he left the room and forgot them. the contents were return to the hotel and the manager took them to the infamous PAWN STARS Pawn shop and only wanted $12,000 for both of them when each is worth well over $50,000. So they called the cops and when the guy came back to sell them, they arrested him and the goods were at his house. Not too bright. As for May...? How could you forget 2 Super Bowl rings and a watch? Wow.

Almost as obnoxious as having all your teams in your city in every sport wear black and yellow.

Or trying to tell people that the yellow is actually gold.

The Broncos became the first NFL team to hold a training camp practice this year when they hit the field on Thursday and one of their players needed a cart to help him off the field after being injured during the session.

Multiple reporters at the practice reported that linebacker Todd Davis had to be carted off after suffering an apparent leg injury. Those reports noted that Davis was limping as he made his way from the cart to the locker room door.

There’s no word on the severity of the injury at this point.

Davis started every game for the Broncos last year and has started 45 games over the last three seasons. He had 114 tackles, a half-sack and an interception in 2019.

UPDATE 1:40 p.m. ET: James Palmer of NFL Media reports that Davis injured his calf. He will have an MRI, but the initial feeling is that he avoided a serious injury.

Aaron Rodgers: Billy Turner’s a great addition for us...

There’s been plenty of attention paid to changes to the Packers offense this offseason and most of it has focused on how quarterback Aaron Rodgers will adjust to the system head coach Matt LaFleur is installing in Green Bay.

Less attention has been paid to newly acquired members of the unit, especially when compared to the slew of new faces on the defensive side of the ball. One free agent is slated for a starting role this year, however, and Rodgers told Chris Simms that he thinks right guard Billy Turner is going to fill a big role for the Packers this season.

“The guy who won’t get a lot of pub but I’m trying to pub him every chance I can is Bill Turner,” Rodgers said. “He’s going to be a great addition for us. He is going to be a really good addition. He’s a big tough dude, fits in really well, good athlete. He can move in our system because we’re running off the ball. He’s going to be a big part of what we are doing up front because Matt wants to run the ball.”

Turner started 11 games for the Broncos last year and made 12 starts for the Dolphins in 2015, but only played in nine games between those two seasons. That’s likely part of the reason why he’s flown under the radar, but fulfilling Rodgers’s expectations come the fall would likely ensure that’s not the case in the future.

"Yeah, he's caught onto the fact that we never get called for holding, in Green Bay. So he's really flourishing".

NFL decides not to discipline Tyreek Hill...

Three months after the emergence of an audio recording that prompted the Chiefs to ban receiver Tyreek Hill from the balance of the offseason program, the NFL has decided to take no action against Hill.

The league has announced that Hill will not be disciplined under the Personal Conduct Policy.

The NFL’s statement focuses on the child-abuse investigation, saying nothing about the apparent threat made to Crystal Espinal in the audio that surface an hour before the start of the 2019 draft. “You need to be terrified of me too, bitch,” Hill said to Espinal during an argument regarding whether their young son respects Hill or is terrified of him.

It’s currently unclear why the league opted not to discipline Hill for that comment, or whether the league even considered the possibility. What is clear is that Hill is clear to return to the Chiefs, join his teammates at training camp, and move forward with the final season of his rookie contract.

With the ease that the NFL hands out suspensions I was kinda floored when I saw this news break this morning. In the NFL’s statement they basically said there hands were tied when it came to gathering evidence because all the police and court documents were sealed.

I would think with the fact that the child was taken from his household plus that audio tape it would be enough for at least a 6 game suspension. Especially with Hill’s history coming out of college.

Glad he isn’t a Bear cause I wouldn’t be able to root for this guy no matter how well he played. When his girl said he(the son) is scared of him and he answers she should be scared too. That is enough for me to want to break his jaw if I were a teammate. How are you going to rally around a piece of shit like that. With all the Chiefs have going for them with a rising star in Mahomes in a system that spreads the ball around one might think him being on the team can do more harm than good.

    Bills sign S Kurt Coleman...

The Buffalo Bills signed a veteran safety Friday to replace a veteran safety who is retiring.

The team announced it signed Kurt Coleman to a one-year contract. The move comes as Rafael Bush decided to retire after nine seasons.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Coleman's deal is worth just over $1 million with a chance to make a maximum of $2 million, per a source informed of the pact.

Coleman, 31, started nine games for the New Orleans Saints in 2018. Entering his 10th season, the journeyman safety has a deep history with Bills coach Sean McDermott. Coleman played under McDermott as a rookie with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, and spent two seasons with the coach in Carolina from 2015-2016.

Bush, 32, started seven games for the Bills last season. During his nine-year career, Bush was a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Saints (two separate stints covering five seasons), Detroit Lions and the Bills. Bush performed well as Buffalo's third safety last season as a spot starter, generating 45 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He compiled 242 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three interceptions for his career.

With Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer slated as the starters, the Bills will move forward with Coleman as a veteran backup. Second-year safety Siran Neal and rookie sixth-round pick Jaquan Johnson will battle for snaps as the third safety as well.
