Michael Ferland is going to Vancouver - 4 years $14MM. The Nucks are getting better.

 

I like Ferland's game. Tough and he can contribute offensively. Liked watching him in Carolina.

 

Iafallo signs two-year contract with Kings
Forward gets $2.425 million per season, avoids arbitration hearing...

Alex Iafallo signed a two-year, $4.85 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $2.425 million.

The 25-year-old forward, who was a restricted free agent, avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for July 20.

Iafallo had 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 82 games with the Kings last season, his second in the NHL.

I was impressed with Iafallo when ever I watched him play at MN-Duluth and thought the LAK had pulled off grand larceny to get him for free. Of course, the fact he's from Buffalo is a big bonus.

Still $4.85MM over two years seems a bit rich for him at this point. Hope he proves me wrong.

Actually, since you asked, things are going GREAT for me. I'll be retiring before the end of the year. We're selling our place in CO and will be moving to sunny Portugal.

I have a blank slate with my Portuguese friends - I have already converted some in Lisboa to become Buffalo Sabres fans, (they know the song and everything!). The intraweb works in Portugal too. So do TV's. Also, they've got low-cost jets hopping all over Europe. I'll be jetting to Switz. or Germany or Praha, or Sweden, or Finland as often as I fancy. Plus, the NHL plays in Europe too! (I'll be in Stockholm for a Sabres game in Nov.)
