It's been quiet like crazy here since the season ended but I was wondering what are YOU looking forward to in this upcoming season?
First game of the season is at home, against the Packers, 100th year. The Bears have a legitimate team. The Packers have a team that has gone through some real turmoil, recently. If the Bears can step on their throat, and make good on the game they gave away week one last year (ouch), then I won't need anything else for the rest of the regular season. I will be sated. It is all I want (okay, kick DET / MIN / GBx2's ass would be great, too). I want to see a dominant defense return - the nerves we all feel at the loss of Fangio, Amos, and Callahan can be assuaged quickly with a dominant week one performance. I also want to see Mitch - he's the most important part of this team. If he has taken a legitimate step forward, then this team is in good shape regardless of anything else.
Awesome write up d-line thank you! I can really understand your excitement about the home game. I'm not going to go anywhere near this board during or after the game just to be on the safe side.
I really wanted to watch the game with the girlfriend, because she's become a big Bears fan, and it's a huge game. Unfortunately, I'll be on a work trip for that game. I really prefer not to watch the game in a hotel room / at a random bar, and I'd very much prefer to watch it with her. I've been thinking about just quitting my damn job. That's how excited I am for week one.
We'd love to. Unfortunately, the game is Thursday night, my trip is Wed-Fri. She'd have to take a few days off the job she just started. She also has a son that needs to get to / from school. It's something we'll consider when we get closer, but likely not an option. So, quitting my job it is! That's much easier!
I like your attitude! Quitting your job it is I'm down with it! It'll be worth it anyway in the long run, since she's a major Bears fan she can support you can't she? This is looking better and better d-line
LMAO, When I first read the title of the thread I thought it said "anticipation and excrement" That fucking Evelyn Wood let me down.. ...again. Hopefully, that title is for some time down the road and not this year. I'm telling you dline perhaps not in this case but you need to get an IPTV service and sit behind a VPN no one will know nothing. I running with three different services now because you have to have a backup. One is 5 bucks another 7 bucks and another $10. I know it doesn't beat being in a bar, but you can pop that firestick in a hotel TV and run it off their WiFi. It sure beats listening to the game in my car on satellite radio. Perhaps instead of quitting because those bills won't pay themselves go to your doctor and fake an illness earlier in the week and the doctor advises you not to travel. Boom! problem solved. Baby in my office NOW! You are such a bad influence here I really don't know how we aren't all corrupt.
What the .... isn't that MY line??? So tunaaaaaaaa .... what are we going to do in your office hmmmm?
I have to say that I'm really excited about seeing Mitch play. He's had a whole off-season to settle down and to figure things out. I hope like crazy that he's been practicing. What do these guys even do during the off-season? He needs to have matured over the last few months and gotten ready to get down to business.
Fuck if I know I'll be lucky to remember why I called you in there in the first place, but I'll figure it out I'm not stupit all the way. Now I used to greet having another year under his belt in the same offense with optimism, but having been burned too many times with this team and that way of thinking. I'm going to hold my breath because my expectations with him are still extremely guarded.
Damn you're funny tuna. Seriously funny. @BearsWillWin take note. This is true comedic genius. I'm not capable of doing that. I'm an all-in kind of person and I'm ridiculously optimistic. Remember how I would go on about Cutler? I'll never forget my secret shame ...
See that's EXACTLY where I learned to temper my expectations and the disappointment won't be so crushing.
Meh. As much as I love you tuna I still believe in going all in to support your team. Let your expectations soar, shower them with well-thought out and well-meant praise and it will all come to pass ...
It has been quiet. That is probably because the team is in the best shape it’s been in personnel wise in a long long time. Add that to a lack of draft picks and there just isn’t a lot to talk about. Outside of kicker the team is basically set. When a team has lots of question marks it stirs debate over how those questions should be answered. I am excited over this coming season. Like has been stated before starting the 100th season off on the Thursday night season kickoff game at home against the hated Packers is big. I can’t remember a more anticipated season opener. To me this season all comes down to Trubisky. If he takes the next step look out. This offense has the talent and coaching to be lights out. Pair that with a defense that is good enough to be historically good and there are no excuses outside of bad injury luck to derail a title run. The defense is so good that the team could still make a deep playoff push if Trubisky is just average but average isn’t going to cut it. Mitch needs to cement himself as the franchise QB we have all been waiting for our entire lives.
Yes but can he drive a 6 inch nail into a 2 inch thick piece of wood using just his penis? I can't either....I'm just wondering.
Things I'm excited about for the coming season.... - Trubisky in year 2 of this offense. - The Bears receivers...possibly the deepest and most overall talented the team has ever had. - Khalil Mack. - Strangely....Leonard Floyd. Only if he can carry on the momentum he had in the last 6 games or so last season. - David Montgomery. - Playing the Packers week 1....Thursday....at home....in Prime Time. A real chance to show the NFL the Bears are back.
