Greedy Williams on not going in first round: My place to be was “The Land” Posted by Josh Alper on May 3, 2019, 12:46 PM EDT Getty Images Cornerback Greedy Williams was on his way to the first round of the draft in Nashville last week when he asked someone in his party if every player attending would be selected that night. He was surprised to learn that there are always players who are left in the green room once the first round comes to an end and he learned a few hours later that he fell into that category this year. Williams wound up being selected by the Browns in the second round and he was asked on Friday if he was bothered by not being one of the first 32 players off the board. “I feel like God’s got a place for everybody. My place wasn’t going in the first round,” Williams said from Browns minicamp. “My place was to be in “The Land” and come build with a great team, great coaching staff. I’m just happy to be here, ready to go to work with the vets and hopefully we’re going where we’re supposed to go.” Williams added that being the seventh cornerback chosen was something he’ll use as a motivational tool as he embarks on his time in Cleveland. Williams made it clear where he believes the Browns are supposed to go when he said last week that they’ll be heading to the Super Bowl. Williams said that was “just excitement” about launching his NFL career, but no one in “The Land” would mind if he turns out to be correct.
In case we didn't already know, Baker Mayfield is an elite quarterback. He was fifth in the NFL in throwing to tight windows (as a rookie). I wonder what his numbers Weeks 9 - 17 looked like... He was also second (behind only NFL MVP Pat Mahomes) in a metric called "accuracy plus rate".
I don’t know if you guys are really looking forward to seeing the AFCN this season. The Steelers have a chip on their shoulder after the last season and are going to make a serious push for number seven this season.
I spent the last few weeks in Dallas with my brother. Awesome city and I'm probably moving in near Texas before the regular season starts. It was interesting to see what everyone says about OBJ there considering they're Cowboys fans. I want to be more excited for this season than I am but it feels like there's just too much gas being poured on before the fire is lit.
If you think that Cowboys fans are insufferable now, wait till you get anywhere near Dallas. I lived in East Texas and now live just North of Houston and while I thought Cowboy fan was terrible before I moved down here..its about 100x worse having to listen to them all day and listen to them on the radio.
Cowboys fans are messed up that’s for sure. What was so awesome was I worked in San Antonio when the Steelers won their SBs under Ben and was able to rub it in real good.
AFC North QB Recap, by the "Numbers": 1. Bengals. As in, will start rookie Ryan Finley Week 1. 2. Steelers. Cam Jordan wasn't wrong, he's Eli Manning 2.0. 3. Browns. Baker is a Top 3 QB in the NFL. 4. Ravens. RG4.
You got to stick with the bread & butter and play to win football games. Bisciotti doing his best Jerry Jones and sticking his nose in things instead of letting the coaching staff handle it, so it seems, but what do I know. I also think Jackson is just being critical of himself because maybe he's not a flamboyant, conceded guy, who thinks he throws the perfect spiral. My money says he can and will throw a football, but to take him out of the run game is playing him down and giving a break to opposing defenses in my opinion. I thought maybe they knew what they were doing when the signed him, lol. *just a thought from a guy who cant wait for some football - Bo Browns !
He's also not better than Wilson. He could end up being better at some point...but in this moment right now...no.
