Nobody can replace Ryan Shazier, but here is the successor We needed this so much and Colbert/Tomlin knew it Ballsy move going to 10; unexpected The price is not too much, tons of 2ND rounders FAIL Bush is a blue chip and I can't believe this happened; I give the Steelers war room credit
I liked ur post for the enthusiasm alone. That's been lacking so thank for bringing it! I hope you are right. I confess to feeling a warm sense of "screw you" towards AB and Bell as Colbert was saying how those moves made this move possible.
Steelers.com has good video of Colbert/Tomlin discussing their grabbing Bush (Sorry , not good at pastng links with this phone) Their main points were that they mandated having two picks on day two, so having an extra third allowed that I especially liked where Colbert said that "any pick higher than 32 is too high" and you can hear Tomlin remark..."you got that right"
Do you think they meant by that comment about "any pick higher than 32 is too high" that the draft becomes a bit of a crapshoot after that? If so, I am glad they agree with my fundamental point about the draft in general being a crapshoot. Some strongly disagreed with me about that. I can't check the link right now though so I am missing context and maybe reading that quote all wrong?
I think maybe you are. I immediately thought "any pick higher than 32" means you didn't win the Super Bowl.
Devin Bush is absolutely the best, IMO, defensive LB on that board, especially when considering un-tangibles as leadership, etc ... honestly couldn't be happier ... and ... we have 2 (fairly high) picks yet today ... Only disappointment was Darnell Savage off the board ...
Before I forget . . . Congratulations on snagging Devin Bush. I must confess, I have Devin Bush envy. But don't get greedy (not the CB, the mindset).
No, really Lym, I had him tuned in about a month ago, as well as a dozen other DB's because of our need. I saw his numbers and freaked... no one was talking about him (until Monday) and I legitimately thought we might get him on our late round 3rd. Apparently (imagine this) someone else was out there looking at him too ...
Late 3rd Rounder? No phuckin way! As late as this past Monday, he (Greedy Williams) was still be talked about as a late 1st round pick! There's absolutely no way in hell he makes it past the 2nd round.
ok in fairness to me SP botched the quote .... now that i have taken it all in (actual word for word quote included), yeah it is obvious that's what was meant
I’m liking the Bush pick more and more. At first I thought maybe they gave up too much but he’s a high character young man with great family values. Looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field. Last 3 first rounders - Watt - Edmunds - Bush
i freaking love everything in this article and that's why for me: https://www.steelers.com/news/bush-i-m-just-ready-to-be-devin-bush and to me it's him being confident in himself and what he knows he is going to do at the next level .... reminds me of a young, big ben but on DEFENSE btw, i intentionally didnt say "cocky" instead of confident because it didn't come off as that ... it's him being self aware
Ulyses Gilbert III has some serious speed too. We might just wind up with the best ILB group in the league.
You know, Gid, I read that too. It would really be something if we went from being thin at linebacker to it being a position of strength.
