His body has been healing really well to the point where he was able to regain his old form. Given that he's played that course 24 times and it's Tiger Woods, seems a possibility, not something far fetched.
Was disconnected from everything all weekend. Really upset that I missed this. What a moment, and what a sight that must've been. Congrats to Tiger - here's to at least a couple more...
I had the opportunity to go and spend the weekend at Augusta...a close friend of mine is a member...and now that I'm in Nashville it's not a long trip for me at all. I turned it down. Been to the Masters twice before....I saw Mickelson's first win in 2004 and also saw dickbag Bubba Watson win in 2012.
fuck Butch Harmon ! He said a lot of negative stuff on Tiger too. THese young guys can out drive Tiger, but are they smarter? Tiger said yesterday "I don't have to hit the ball 340 to keep up with these guys." "Just put it in good spots and work the course." His knowledge of the back 9 helped him a lot yesterday. He grinded and worked his way around the course and got the birdies he needed and didn't make a costly mistake like the others. He played it smart.
Even when Tiger did make mistakes he recovered from them with relative ease. That was vintage Tiger for sure.
well Molinari's double helped him a lot. He was in control and Tiger was chasing until the 12th. Then it was on !
again - add in his surgeries, his DUI arrest, his immobility just 2 years ago, the doubters and if he could not just play again, but win again and it tops a lot of big sports moments for me.
Maybe the same for Brooks Koepka on 18 - that birdie putt never threatened the hole. He makes that, moves to 1 behind Tiger, who knows what happens.
well Tiger probably does do a bump and run up to the green and not 65 yards behind like yesterday. his 3rd shot instead of being safe, would be in front of the ridge and to the right side of the green. they mentioned that yesterday he played it safe bc he had a 2 shot lead. having a 1 shot lead and he goes for it. the 3rd shot was just safe and smart to not go over the ridge. he could've moved to the left and went for it 65 yards out if he needed too. he had the 2 shot cushion and was safe. brooks missed the putt on 17 too. so did Tiger. If Tiger birdies 17, it's over.
I'm telling you....it was like MJ in the 4th quarter. Tiger was gonna do anything necessary to win. No one could have stopped him yesterday. Clutch.
i texted my buddy when he was on 11 and said "if he ever wanted to win another major, now is the time," as no one was going insanely low and he was 2 off the lead with 2 par 3's and 2 par 5's left. once molinari went in the water bringing him back to the pack at -11. it was one and his opening was apparent. once he had the lead, the par 3 16th was all money! that was the dagger through all of their hearts!
Tiger definitely wouldn't have played a "safe" 3rd shot on 18 with just a one-stroke lead...but he still mangled his second shot.
i don't know what happened on his 2nd shot at 18. i don't know if he hit a tree branch bc it died so quickly. he could've hit a low 2 iron stinger up there. im surprised he didn't. thankfully the 2nd shot didn't carom into the woods (no pun intended). haha.
