The Chicago Bears are adding another Pro Bowler to their 2018 campaign with quarterback Mitch Trubisky. The young quarterback was named a replacement for Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff on Monday after the Rams won the NFC Championship and are heading to the Super Bowl in Atlanta. Trubisky is now the sixth member of the Bears to be named a Pro Bowler in 2018, along with outside linebacker Khalil Mack, cornerback Kyle Fuller, free safety Eddie Jackson, defensive end Akiem Hicks and return man Tarik Cohen. Mack has already withdrawn from the game due to a minor injury. Trubisky becomes the first Bears quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl since Jim McMahon had the honor in 1985. The second-year quarterback made major strides in his first season playing under Matt Nagy in Chicago. The North Carolina alum ended the season by completing 289 of his 434 passing attempts for 3,223 yards with 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also ran the ball 68 times for 421 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. As a rookie in 2017, Trubisky completing 196 of his 330 passing attempts for 2,193 yards with just seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also ran the ball 41 times for 248 yards with two rushing touchdowns. Trubisky had to miss two games in 2018 due to a shoulder injury but was still able to put together one of the best seasons by a Bears quarterback in recent memory. His breakout moment of the year occurred in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished that game by completing 19 of his 26 passing attempts for 354 yards and threw a career-high six touchdowns. He also ended that game with a 154.6 quarterback rating. He backed that up with back-to-back 300-yard plus passing games. He threw three touchdowns and one interception with 316 passing yards in a Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins. A week later he threw two touchdowns and two interceptions with 333 passing yards in a loss to the New England Patriots. In Week 10, Trubisky arguably played the best game of his career. Against the Detroit Lions, he completed 23 of his 30 passing attempts for 355 yards with three touchdowns. He also ran the ball three times for 18 yards with one rushing touchdown. He was later named the Offensive Player of the Week for his performance. A week later on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings, Trubisky suffered his shoulder injury. He missed a Thanksgiving Day tilt against the Detroit Lions before missing a Week 13 game against the New York Giants. He returned in Week 14 in a victory over Goff and the Rams. When the Bears clinched the NFC North title in Week 15, he threw for 235 yards with two touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers. In Chicago's playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round, Trubisky threw for 303 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions. The Pro Bowl will take place on January 27 at 2:00 p.m. CT.
Yeah, I'm not really seeing the merit, here. Trubs improved this year over last. And his numbers certainly don't look bad at all. But this team only mustered 15 points in its playoff game, and he was a big part of that. We all saw his misses over the year. We all know he needs to improve. I question him being the third most deserving QB in the conference (4th, with Goff).
This right here. Players can turn down being an alternate. One would think at the least Ryan and Wilson must have said no thanks.
Now I’m reading that Wilson is playing. Dak Prescott. Too. Brees pulled out. Confusing. Either way Matt Ryan must have declined being an Alternate he amshould have made it to begin with.
I guess they couldn’t find any left tackles either... https://www.chicagotribune.com/spor...charles-leno-pro-bowl-20190122-story,amp.html
He thanked God for the opportunity to hit that pole, and has reserved a slot on Good Morning America to talk about how he's a good driver.
I’m sure there’s plenty more poles to hit after that one. He sure didn’t quit after hitting the first one
tuna that video is amazing!! It's SO funny!! The Bird Box reference was hilarious. Really clever video!
