I know it doesn’t mean a whole lot, but it always feels good to see your team’s players get some national fan recognition. As of right now the Bears have FIVE players that are the leading vote getters at their respective positions. CB Kyle Fuller S Eddie Jackson S Adrian Amos OLB Khalil Mack RS Tarik Cohen Welcome back to football relevancy.
Shame that Hicks isn't among the voting leaders for DT. Outside of Donald there hasn't been a better DT in the NFL this season.
Glad to see Amos get recognition. You don't hear his name enough despite how good he plays. Hicks is definitely deserving.
I thought you didn't hear his name enough because he doesn't make enough good plays.... Very interesting that he topped the voting though. Be even more interesting to see what the other 2/3 of the process thinks. Is it coaches & associated press? I really don't follow the pro bowl much these days, its become far too devalued for a number of reason. Such as fans being able to vote a billion times if they want. Still, be nice to see another Bear get in i guess. There's some SS competition for Amos in the NFC but Keanu Neal being out certainly helps.
So im sure you guys have seen this, the Bears have 5 players in.....so far! I know you can't place too much on it, but still, welcome back to relevancy Bears! Glad to see Hicks get in. Not shocked that Amos didn't, but gotta say one thing......i don't know why, but there was only one spot for SS per team. FS had 2 spots per....whats the difference? This is like the Tackles, who only get 3 named when they should prob have 4. Don't actually think Amos was the 2nd best SS in the NFC either for the record, but still, if there were two spots he obvs would've had a better chance to make it. The Bears also have 7 alternates named(when did naming alternates ahead of time become a thing?) pretty much all of em kinda raise the eye with the possible exception of Smith who it has to be said has been stuffing the tackles stat sheet like its santas sack on Christmas Eve. Trubisky(wow), Whitehair, Leno, Burton(don't see it tbh), Smith, Trevathan and Floyd(is it April Fools?) Some of those names surprise me. But mostly im a bit disappointed that Goldman hasn't even made the list as an alternate. Thats BS. That is no question whatsoever that he's more deserving than Floyd. But tbh i have him as more deserving than any on that list. Goldman is pro bowl worthy, he just plays a position that is stacked in the NFC.
