If Baker stays clean, I would agree with that score. This will be the biggest challenge of the Greggg Williams era. I can't wait to see how they respond.

In reality, I expect 2019 to be the realistic playoff breakthrough for the Browns, but if they can pull off a win in Houston, then I will be screaming that Christmas has come early. IF they win, I will say right then, we will be watching Cleveland Browns football in January. What is the biggest turnaround in NFL history? What we do know is no one has ever gone from 0-16 to the playoffs in one year...but a 8-9 game turn around may have happened. It will take at least 4 out of these last 5, possibly 5 for 5, to make it in. That tie, could end up getting us in...They just need to win baby, the rest will take care of itself, Houston will go a long way in the confidence of team, fans and media alike.

Dodged a bullet here. Would be a tough start to the game week...

Agreed. From a "how's the season going" standpoint, irrespective of wins or losses, this game will tell us a lot about the Browns. Last time we were thinking "playoffs", the Chargers came in and beat the brakes off us. Different coaches running the show, however, so Williams and Kitchens will be the key.

Houston's defense is a lot better than they've seen over the last two games.

On the Schefter premature tweet... certainly does seem like John Dorsey is sniffing out the rats in Berea.

Last week, it was bringing in Condi Rice to be the head coach. This week, it was claiming Reuben Foster. Both reported first by Adam Schefter, so clearly there's someone feeding him the info.

The next report coming out may be from a more local source that never hits the national media...that of a staffer being given his pink slip.

Looking at our schedule, I think this trip to Houston might be our toughest remaining game. They are an explosive offense, and Watson has that ability to extent plays and really hurt a defense. Ward will have a very tough assignment dealing with Deandre Hopkins. Pressure up front will be key. I think it's important to keep Watson contained in the pocket, and try to get pressure up the middle, right in his face. We need another big week from Myles, Oganjobi and Ogbah.

Mayfield just needs to do what he been doing the last two games. Trusting his receivers, and getting the ball out quickly, he's been nearly flawless the last couple games. Holding it too long against Houston is a recipe for disaster. I wouldn't be too surprised if we see some more designed rollouts. The Browns should try to move the pocket around and be sure to change cadence often. We can't let JJ and Clowney start teeing off.....

I think we might be in for a Watson/Mayfield shootout.....Should be fun.

We better pull it out. My boss and a few of my subordinates are Texans fans and Im going to have to listen to it for a while if we don't.

Where do you live? In the Texans stadium? Nobody in Texas likes them, they are all Cowboys fans. It didn't make any sense to put a team in Houston because the Cowboys are so popular.

Really? I travel to Houston for work and I've never met a Cowboys fan there with the exception of one dude who lives and works remotely from Arlington.

I have lived about 60 miles north of Houston for 2 yrs and used to live just southeast of it for about 1.5 yrs. There are way more Texans fans here than Cowboys. Most of the ones that I know are holdovers from the Oilers and they're just proud of their city and became fans of the Texans.

I would personally rank Cowboys fan as being more unbearable than Steelers fan. Rangers fans are the same way. They complain about good players, expect average and bad players to be great just by putting on their uniform. Really hard to listen to Cowboys/Rangers sports talk. At least the local evening drive show that I listen to 'The Blitz' is pretty solid and they don't wear blinders.

It’s worse If you’re a Steelers fan. I lived in San Antonio for ten years. Cowboys fans are the biggest pain in the ass I’ve ever met. You’re right about Cowboys fans, they are definitely worse than any AFCN teams fans.

Probably the toughest they have game till BAL. Houston is hot right now riding an 8-game win streak.

Finding ways to keep Watt and Clowney off of Mayfield will be critical. I'm guessing that Jarvis and Duke could make up a good portion of the targets and catches on shorter routes trying to get the ball into the hands of play makers. If Chubb can bust a long one it will go a long way to keeping the D honest.

Defensively figuring out how to get to Watson is going to be challenging. He's a mobile QB with a good arm and solid weapons around him. If the D can play as well against HOU as they did against Brees in NO I really think that the Browns can pull this upset off.

    1. I don't want Kitchens going anywhere... build this man a statute! OC or HC, his pick next season.

    2. I don't like the Browns media still harping on the Hue angle. This team needs to focus on the Texans, not what their idiot ex-coach and franchise QB did or did not do after a game.

Good news is, it doesn't seem to be affecting the team negatively:

Go Browns. It helps the Steelers. But only if they manage to win on Sunday night
