Most beat writers seem to think it's gonna be Chase Daniel playing. I think with the system in place, the solid weapons on offense, and the way the defense is currently playing mixed with the fact the Lions will be without their #1 running....if there were a game for Mitch to miss...this is probably the one.
The defense had such a great effort Sunday night and hopefully they've got a lot left in the tank. The turnaround time for us + travel is criminal. There should be a rule that teams can only play on Thursday if they are coming off a bye.
I've been saying this for years now. The NFL can't preach player safety and continue to do these short turnarounds.
Just released: Bears list Mitch Trubisky as doubtful for Thanksgiving game The Chicago Bears may have to lean on a veteran quarterback when they take on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. The team released its final injury report of the week and have quarterback Mitch Trubisky marked down as questionable for the contest. Bears Final Injury Report QB Mitch Trubisky (right shoulder) - Doubtful LB Aaron Lynch (concussion) - Out TE Adam Shaheen (concussion) - Out
Times like this it would be nice to have had Colin Kaepernick as backup... I blame the NBC crew putting up that "consecutive QB starting streak" Graphic during the game, assholes lol. I think we can win with Chase. But it does now feel like a perfect storm for a loss. Very Short week + Travel, no starting QB, away game in Detroit. If we had a full weeks rest I'd be a bit more confident, but I'm already imagine the D kinda putting up a stinker and I wouldn't even be too mad at them. BAH. Lets go Chase!
Bold prediction: Chase lights up the scoreboard and the meatballs come out of the woodwork and trip over themselves to start a QB controversy and say “see it’s all just Nagy scheming good play!” This is shaping up to be a game completely stacked against the Bears. I don’t feel super confident.
It's gonna be okay. Mack is gonna sack Stafford 3 times. One of those will result in a fumble. Hicks is gonna recover that fumble and Keith Traylor his way to the endzone. Lots of short passes and a few screens....and some zone runs from Howard....and the Bears offense will be okay.
And pick and choose, seemingly at random, when and which quarterbacks they are going to “protect”. Here’s the hit by Harrison Smith (his second dirty play of the game) that it’s being surmised caused the injury. Clearly Mitch was giving himself up, went unpenalized.
Tyler Bray has been activated. Strap in, it’s Chase Daniel time. To gid: I’m not super confident in a win, but Trubs wasn’t the lynchpin to success either. I’d put it 60/40 the Bears win.
