No, I thought that was a given that we were all extremely happy and excited. I was happy and excited to marry my first wife, except two years later I find out she's a whore...do you think I was all about keeping her around?

Sorry to get personal with my story, but I think it's apt.

Yes, I do think there are games that should have been won with a competent kicker and with competent referees.

Would you agree that with a +11 turnover differential, that shouldn't have mattered? An offense run by Haley has digressed in consecutive weeks, reports are coming out that's it's because of the players discontentment with Hue and Haley's school girl bickering. it was beyond unprofessional and the environment needed a change. That has happened and I have moved on, just like I did in that bad marriage.

At least you admit you were in favor of hiring Jackson in the first place and I assume you were happy with that choice because of his demonstrated coaching ability.

I do agree that, with a +11 turnover differential, most teams would have overcame the missed kicks and blown calls. But only if they had the ability to put a complete NFL offense on the field. The Browns didn't. They were using a very good slot receiver as a WR1, had no real down field threats and ended up as a one dimensional offense with a leaky, at best, O-line.

That said, Gregg Williams is now the Head Coach of the Browns and I will support him just as I did Hue Jackson.

When we hired Jackson he was a hot commodity. Supposedly we got it done before the Giants swooped in. It felt like a Cleveland win...All Browns fans were happy when we hired Hue. Same as with Romeo. Same as with Mangini. Same as with Chud. Same as with Butch. And so on and so on.... What is your point? Things obviously have changed, as they often do...Do you think NFL owners are lining up to hire Hue Jackson?

We are Browns fans. Yes, we get excited about new regimes and the notion of actually becoming a noteworthy team in the NFL...

I would hire Hue in a limited role. If focused on small things, I think he still has some life. The big picture seemed to overwhelm him.

Sure ya do...He went 8-8 in Oakland.

"If focused on small things"....lol! really?

Can he cavity pack Tiffany lamps? If so, I'll hire him.

And why do you think he was a hot commodity? Because he was an awful coach? The worst coach ever?

I was referring to his ability to be a positional coach. Leaving the headaches of dealing with fragile egos and media to others. He knows football and entrusted (mebbe too much) in Haley.

lol! Nick Saban failed as an NFL HC...Lot's of big names have failed....it ain't easy.

Lyman, the man was 3-36-1.....Why cling to this one? I don't remember you getting so attached to any of our other wonderful head coach's. ??

Hue sucked beyond belief at his job, and he was quick to put blame on everyone else for the failures....What kind of leader is that?

Better yet, lets just let it go...The Browns will be better because of the decisions they made today. Do you know how I know that? Because it can't possibly get worse than it was under Hue Jackson.

    Because Peppers was right.

Wow...Yeah, hitch your wagon to that....smh.

Ok. Then why would the Rams do that?

Shocked by this news. I didn't want to re shuffle mid season, and doing it following the Pitt game (a disaster) feels very much like an emotional reaction. Doing Haley just makes it that much worse. Not that I think very highly of Haley's performance. It just feels like a knee jerk reaction.
If the Haley move resulted from Haley blowing up after being told he wasn't being named the Interim coach, then at least I can see how we ended up losing 1 HC, and both coordinators all at the same time (I consider Williams as HC a loss of the DC). A decidedly Browns move: undisciplined and poorly thought out, leaving us a laughing stock once again. How can it get worse?

Whats his name is the new OC? WTF? Meanwhile the O line coach is still with us?

Let's look at "the plan". We were supposed to have a truly gifted deep threat, "the" top slot guy in the league, and a 3rd guy from a list of 4 possibles. By the end of game two, we had lost the deep guy, found out 1 of 4 was useless and shipped him out, then within another couple weeks lost options 2 and 3, while discovering 4 had questionable hands. Meanwhile our "veteran" QB proved to be very pedestrian, got his bell rung, forcing our rookie QB into action, long before "planned". We predictably paid for our lack of planning to get a quality RT, or sign a quality K. Other than that the plan worked perfectly.

I'm no Hue fan, but couple that with the officiating, and voila, we are where we are. With all that said, if there was obvious tension between coaches, I'm glad they didn't simply pick a winner, but dismissed both. I always felt Haley was angling for Hue's job, but failed to do his own, very much like Hue failed to do his.

The firings, I can get behind, but the apparent lack of planning for doing it, makes me think we are destined to fail again. I don't see how the new coaching assembly has a prayer of succeeding. At the same time, I see the talent on this team, and worry we will never realize it due to incompetence at the top.
To top it off, Haslam has made it clear he will not change the reporting responsibilities, thus leaving the same disfunctional structure in place, since it's worked so well.

Whew, had to get that out.

With all of that, I like this team. I think this team has actual potential. This week vs the Chiefs, is a lost cause IMO, but if anything good can come from this, it will begin after that.

Just don't get Baker killed or maimed physically or mentally while you're working on the recipe for success.

Well, one thing we have going for us... A team takes on the personality of their coach.'

The offense was pedestrian, just walking through the motions to do their job.. in what seemed to be the clone that is is Hue and Haley..
The defense was fiery, even if they missed tackles because they were being so aggressive trying to set a record in turnovers.

Greggggg Williams is now your head coach, for better or worse, we will soon find out. But, I do expect this team to have more fire under their asses from top to bottom. If you screw up, it won't be "go sit in the corner until I get to you"....then forget about them. He will let you know RIGHT NOW that you fucked up and you better fix it quick.

The discipline part is what I worry about. He gets these guys so fired up it forces a lot of penalties. I hope that isn't a trend that gets even worse.

To be very clear... I don't think they do. I'm not the one who puts those odds out there. If there's any chance of it happening, it's because Snead thinks he can work with the staff currently in place under McVay and use the draft assets to create a dynastic team.

It most certainly is. This fan base has a documented history of jumping on a player's or coach's bandwagon only to want to run him out of town on a rail.
