  1. Then be clear. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

    huh?

I did mean what i said, you strawmanned me and i pointed out how you did so, and then you are now telling me to be careful with what i say?

Joe is not great- he is average at best, he did not play well- from that and other similar things you decided to go down a path of mentioning whether or not he should be dropped?

and you chose to not answer the question i posed to you because if you answered honestly you would essentially agree with me. But instead you gave that rather evasive answer and just responded with meaningless retort in the context of what we were discussing without realising the irony in what you are saying.

Look, how about this, you dont agree for reasons that i dont think will be worthwhile to figure out, but can we just agree that tonight sucked and the ravens could have won this? and yes...NO played well.

    tonight sucked.

  3. Joe's the best QB the team has had, bar none. He did well tonight - not great, not suck. The loss was not on him alone, not by a long shot. There about 20 other QBs in the league that no one here would take over Joe. You and I have different definition of what "suck" means and how it's applied. As to the rest, I'll leave it at that.

  4. The AFC North standings are a mess. Steelers are in 1st place more by default and have not looked good at all. Ravens and Bengals are tied and the gamey Browns are last, as usual, 2 games behind. This is still anyone's division.

I honestly do not know why they didn't go for two. I've watched Harbs press conference, know all about the analytics, Tucker's accuracy, ect. But....they have a 300 lb FB they refuse to utilize, have a RB in Buck Allen that usually gets the tough yards and has good ball protection, have 4 TE's they can put on the line and have one or two release out, the OL was getting a good push throughout the game, had the momentum, and have a WR they got because of his end zone/TD ability. There is also the old adage of "when on the road, go for the tie. At home, go for the win." Hindsight is 20/20, but I think they should've gone for two.

    Willie Henry to IR

  7. They've always been conservative under Harbaugh. Used to think is was Cameron, but every OC since has had the same issue. Only recently have they gone for more 4th down conversions and that was likely because Belichick starting doing so with some success.

  8. .....and promote (ugh) Eluemunor. It's amazing to me that this guy is still around.

Damn! That sucks. He was playing good.

Crap!! He sucks. Never played good.

I guess they need another OL. I can't believe that Siragusa isn't ready yet, or is he on the IR.

I love your posts Tenacious, but I have to agree with 2k on this one.

Bozeman kept getting injured in that last game as well. Probably need OL Depth.

The offensive line has had little or no push in the running game although they have been serviceable in the passing game. Stanley is a good, not great LT. Lewis is injured too often. Skura, in only his second year, should improve. Yanda is an all-pro, but getting a little long in the tooth. Hurst has played better at RT than I thought he would. They seem to have the makings of a solid, if not spectacular, O-line. So I'm perplexed as to why the run game isn't doing better than it is. I can't believe the loss of Jensen (really the only significant loss on this line) could make this much of a difference.

So, what's the problem? Is it the schemes, the play calling? The running backs? I wish I knew

Am I the only one who doesn't think Collins is hitting open holes the way he did last year? Buck Allen has been the best overall back but he hasn't been anything to write home about.

I can't believe they aren't using Ricard as much this year as last. He should be a capable lead blocker, especially in short yardage situations.

    Any thoughts?

Jensen was not the only loss. Austin Howard was meh, but he could run block pretty well from the RT position. Then there's the change in that Hurst was the LG.

I've said it since his rookie year. Alexi Lewis is not strong enough to be a guard. Skura is easily a worse run blocker than Jensen was. Hurst isn't bad at RT, but those other two in the middle have been the biggest problem.

Keep Brown at RT and move Hurst back to LG. Bring in Bozeman at C. If they all stay healthy, you'll likely see better run blocking. That won't happen though because even though the current line can't run block, they pass block very well and I doubt the coaches risk messing that up

That, to me, is the best option we have moving forward. I would love to see this go from your lips to John's ears......
