I have this thread somewhere before, but can't find it so I'll revive it here. Any news regarding the AFCN teams that's not the Ravens or somehow affects the division can go here. LeVeon Bell - continues his hold out Joe Mixon - had arthroscopic knee surgery and is out 2-4 seeks. Antonio Brown - is sitting out a team meeting today after a Twitter beef with a fan on how Ben made him great Josh Brown - traded to the Pats for a 5th rd pick.
Josh Brown = Browns Slim Shady = long, tall Ricky Williams = NFL Snoop Dog = James Brown(s) = Josh Gordon Jeeez, do I have to spell it out for you? He CAN'T go by his legal name!
So the Ravens were fined once again. $200,000 for violating the league's coach-to-player communications policy during the 2018 preseason. Under NFL rules, only one player on the field is allowed to have coach-to-player capabilities in their helmet, and during the preseason there were apparently several instances where the Ravens had multiple players with coach-to-player communication technology installed in their helmets. According to the Ravens, the team only broke the rule because they didn't know that it was actually a rule during the preseason. "The Ravens' equipment staff misunderstood that this league rule applied in the preseason," the team said in a statement. "Ravens coaches were unaware that multiple players had communication devices in their helmets while on the field at the same time." That's $350,000 this year.
Harbaugh sure as hell gets the team fined a lot in the offseason or preseason. This feels like the 6th or so fine they've gotten under him.
The Ravens were also hit with a similar OTA punishment in 2016. After violating NFL rules, they had to forfeit three OTA practices and they were also fined just over $480,000 total for the incident, including a $137,223 fine that was paid by Harbaugh.
This sounds like an instance where the team would be smart to hire a director of rules interpretation and even if they paid the person 200k, they would be saving money to have them oversee and understand all of the rules..... You'd think they would have caught on and installed this at some point and if they already had done this, the person should be fired.....
What is going on up in Pittsburgh? Bell is still holding out. Connor has been playing well enough for now to give the Steelers a little leverage on Bell so it could be a while for this to be resolved. AB was a no show to a practice one day this week after getting into a twitter beef wioth a fan saying 'trade me ans see if I don't put up numbers elsewhere.' That might not be a fatal flaw, but Tomlin appears to have lost some level of control of star players team. Now Stormy Daniels intimates Big Ben, in her new book, as being sexually aggressive toward her in 2006 (which is the right time line for his "worst" years). Not sure if this bothers him but it's now all over the news. The team is off to a slow start at 0-1-1 and play a red hot Buccaneers team in their house. We'll Monday night. Another loss could sett he tone for th rest of their season.
We still have Donnie around to absorb the Stormy stuff. I agree, it was the right timeframe for his rapey behavior. AB is just frustrated. A win will fix that. Bell is gone and now off the depth chart, so he’s ... ... gone. Conner is taking away the sting. The Tomlin Circus is in full-effect. Send in the clown car!
Steelers are actively seeking trade partners for Bell. Baker Mayfield is named teh Browns starting QB for week 4. That was quicker than I thought.
I called it at work earlier this month that Baker would be starting by Week 4. I figured the Browns would be 1-2 though going into it lol
Watching the Browns/Raiders game. I'll say this. The Browns defense is fast. They've been beaten a couple of times, mainly because they're young. But, they're fast and relentless. And Mayfield looks like the real deal. True, it's against the Raiders who aren't very good either, but the Browns don't look like the same team as last year. if they only had an O-line.
Cincy's Tyler Eifert is out for the season. It was reported that he said "Eifert my ankle really bad!" On the other hand Ravens will likely be getting back their tight end this week. Hurst missed the Steelers game, but should return week 5 along with Jimmy Smith and Willie Henry.
