And...this is where you lost me. Micro managing is not necessarily going to provide positive outcomes in the middle of a game. Making sure they are prepared will, I agree. But to constantly question them throughout the game...nope, I'm not on board with that.

If that's the case, how do you feel about Sean McVay...you know, the second coming of Lombardi according to everyone...yet, he sometimes doesn't even pay attention to the game when the defense is in, because he is working on the next offensive turn. Does this make him a terrible HC and if so, would you be calling for his removal or stating frankly, they will never win until they replace him?

Until Sean McVay's methods produce negative results you can't argue with his approach.

However, if it's true what they say about his retention skills when it comes to remembering every play he's ever called then I'm pretty confident that he would have a solid grasp on when the situation dictates changing from the norm or sticking to a preconditioned mindset to achieve the desired result.

And even though he lets the defense go about its business while he works on preparing for the next offensive series (focusing on situations and decisions) I have also seen him directly involved with the defense during pivotal moments in the game.

He may focus on play calling duties but he does not ignore the other side of the ball.

Do you consider what Bill Belichick does with the Patriots micro-managing? He has a constant focus on situational awareness and the Patriots have proven time and again that they, more often than not, are prepared for nearly any given circumstance on game day.

I have not suggested constant second guessing.

I have stated that he does not put his team in position for success by either failing to have them prepared for in game situations or failing to take command to ensure they make the right decisions/be prepared for the situation at hand.

OK so we're 0-1-1. Did anyone expect something more? I was hoping we'd catch Pitt a little sleepy, and unfocussed due to LeVeon's holdoutl, but a win?
I'm pretty happy with the team's overall play. Game 1 the O was piss poor, but conditions sucked, and even Big Ben only completed 53% of his passes, so I'll chalk it up to early season Offense being well behind the D, and shitty weather.

Game two: Wow! Our D is for real! The O definitely stepped up from week 1, and that was after they had to re-script the game on the plane down to NO. I was truly surprised by them being in a game with a SB contender coming off a week 1 loss. I was expecting to get throttled in NO.

What I'm seeing is a team who for the lack of a decent kicker has lost two games it should have won. I'm pissed at that, but as a team, we look like we're legit, and I certainly hope we don't fall to the level of our opponents Thursday night. We should beat NY if not easily, then at least decidedly.

Do that and I'm in. Drop this one and I start wondering if the beer will die of old age before we can unlock it.

I just want to get this off my chest. Why are some of us pointing to the 47 yd TD to Calloway, and talking about Tyrod making anything other than a great pass??????
Yeah, Calloway is fast. I think Tyrod is aware. Pretty pass and catch. period.

Sorry... meant to come back to this earlier.
    Overrated?

He predictably did nothing against the Kansas City Chiefs. Here's T.J. Watt's career splits:

    3 games against Cleveland: 18 tackles, 6 assists, 6.0 sacks, 1 INT

14 games against everyone else: 29 tackles, 11 assists, 4.0 sacks, 0 INT

He goes from averaging 2.0 sacks per game against Cleveland to barely averaging 2.0 tackles per game against everyone else.

    So he’s a Browns killer.

Well, to be more accurate . . .

He plays well against teams that have demonstrated mediocre offensive line play. So its kinda true.

Kinda weird you would bash T.J. against the Chiefs when Myles Garrett was invisible against the Saints (1 tackle, 0 sacks).

What's weird is the way TJ turns into Superman when he sees the Browns, while he seems content to be Clark Kent against all others....

What's weird is we keep talking about the Steelers in the Saints thread and the steelers thread is still available to post in...weird
