I think this preseason schedule has confirmed the uselessness of preseason football. Is Mitchell Trubisky ready for the regular season? What happens on the field in GB will determine.

Isn't that leaving a lot to chance? I thought the last pre-season game was to give them even more experience on the field during a 'real' game.

They should be playing their starters in the preseason. However, if they're not going to play the starters then what's the point of even having the games? Just make all of the roster decisions based on practice and start the season.

    That totally makes sense Chitown.

I'm a lot more worried about our defense than I am our offense. If they can't put any pressure on Rodgers, our offense likely won't be able to keep up even if Trubisky is playing well (because we haven't seen anything to indicate he can hang serious points on anyone). As to whether or not Trubisky is ready? The only thing we've seen from the guy is a somewhat lackadaisical young man who drives a crappy car and hasn't been allowed to do much with an offense. Will this season be different? I guess we'll find out. The preseason wasn't going to be indicative of that one way or another. If he's ultimately unprepared, but shows that he's got franchise QB traits and can keep his head in tough situations, I'll be encouraged.

The pass rush is the key to success, for sure. Totally agree with all of this.

    From another thread:

Aaron Rodgers just signed a 4 year contract extension for 180 million dollars. 103 million guaranteed

45 mil per year against the cap? That's almost 30% of their cap.

  12. It was an extension, not a brand new contract . He’s getting about 33 million a year now

    Thanks for clarifying 3rd :)

He's getting 80 mil of by St. Patrick's day next year.

And its supposedly going to free up 16 mil in cap space. Pundits believe they're getting Mack now.

Nagy thinks he ready obviously so I guess he's good to go ...we shall see soon enough .

It would be a ballsy move to commit that much to two players, but they're both arguably the best at their positions, and the two positions that change the game most. If you're going to do it, that's the way.

So, I reiterate: trade for Mack, Pace. Get it done.

If it's doable...by all means do it.
