Yeah frightening might be a little overboard but as mentioned this was a money move. They drafted his replacement (Jessie Bates) and decided to move on.

This is really tough, man. Took them a year to diagnose me, and still haven't found the right treatment to reduce symptoms. Obviously, he'll have the resources I and others don't, but the reality is that this is going to be a life-changing thing that will need constant management. He's going to be spending the next couple years learning about his body and how to treat it right with the new conditions - what works for him, what doesn't, etc. I wish him the absolute best, and hope he's able to keep doing his job at the exceptional level he's reached. Much love.

That's what Patrick Eaves (Anaheim Ducks) was diagnosed with. He missed last season but I think he’s good to go for this one.

Maybe another reason is the new tackling rules? He's a bit of a headhunter isn't he? In any case, not sorry to see him leave the AFC North.

Really sorry to hear that dline.
I’m just curious (and ignorant), is this something that people are born with and lays dormant for a while or is it acquired somehow? Is it a constant pain?
All the best to you in finding your solution.

Didn't know that about you, Dline - sorry to hear. This sounds like an extremely challenging issue to deal with. I'd never heard of it before, but it's something that I'll want to brush up on.

Trade! Lions acquire LB Eli Harold from 49ers...

How about a little trade action to go with your Thursday morning coffee?

The Lions have swung a deal with the 49ers, acquiring outside linebacker Eli Harold from San Francisco in exchange for Detroit's conditional seventh-round pick in 2020, a source informed of the deal told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

A 2015 third-rounder, Harold started 10 games last season, but earned poor marks from Pro Football Focus for his work at the strongside spot. Coming out of camp, the 24-year-old defender was clearly on the roster bubble.

Harold was also a player who kneeled alongside 49ers safety Eric Reid last season during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. The linebacker has since changed his stance and has chosen to stand during the anthem this preseason.

In Detroit, he'll join a cast of linebackers fronted by Devon Kennard, Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Jarrad Davis. With one of the shakier pass-rushing crews league-wide, the Lions will hope to get some help in that area from Harold.

As for the Niners, Harold's exit is good news for Dekoda Watson, who is likely to step into a starting role -- for now -- in San Francisco. (NFL.com)

Raiders to sign CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie...

Rodgers-Cromartie was released by the Giants in March after spending four seasons with the organization. Before signing with Oakland, DRC had received interest from the rival Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks.

The 32-year-old joins an unproven secondary in defensive coordinator Paul Guenther's first year on the job. Second-year corner and presumptive starter Gareon Conley just recently returned to the field after recovering from a hip strain; he missed most of his rookie season with a shin injury that required surgery. Across from Conley is free-agent acquisition Rashaan Melvin. Behind them are veteran cornerback Leon Hall, former Panther Daryl Worley, ex-Bill Shareece Wright and Nick Nelson.

It's unclear where DRC fits in, whether Oakland makes him a starter, slides him into the slot, hands him a backup role or asks him to fill in at safety if Karl Joseph and Obi Melifonwu don't pan out. The Raiders reportedly made a play at a recently released safety, George Iloka, only for him to sign with the Minnesota Vikings, so perhaps DRC was Plan B. Oakland was exploring signing free-agent cornerback Bashaud Breeland, as well. (NFL.com)

Hue Jackson says X-rays negative on Tyrod Taylor’s injured hand...

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson confirmed that X-rays on the injured hand of quarterback Tyrod Taylor came back negative following Thursday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was mostly obvious that would be the case once Taylor emerged from the locker room and returned to the field in a preseason game. Nevertheless, it’s a positive sign that nothing is broken in Taylor’s hand.

“I was very concerned,” Jackson said. “… Any time your starting quarterback goes into the locker room you’re not sure. But he came back, obviously, went back into the game so we’ll continue to look at it and see where we are heading into next week.”

Taylor was injured on a failed fourth down attempt near the Eagles goal line in the first quarter. His hand was caught underneath him after throwing an incomplete pass on the play.

“Obviously our medical people said he was fine and he could be out there and we wouldn’t have put him back out there if he wasn’t so, again, we’ll check everything tonight and see where he is but I think, hopefully, everything will be OK,” Jackson said.

Taylor finished the game with 65 yards as he completed 11 passes in 15 attempts against the Eagles. (PFT)
