Where Do We Go From Here?

  1. I honestly apologize if I'm making it hard to read here. That was not my intention.

  2. That's one of the reasons why I'm curious about how the field them. I just hope they don't try to split reps evenly. I would rather see them ride the best back from week to week.

Im just guessing but I think he means once you see who the hot hand is in a game you stick with him rather than trying to make sure each back gets a certain amount of touches.

I will even go a bit further. The HC that makes hundreds of thousands of dollars and has watched a hundred thousand hours of tape makes the decision who gets the biggest share of the carries.

this is gold. Mr. Iveforgottenmorefottbalthanyouknow Von Illruncirclesaroundyouonthechalkboardski has to have running back by committee explained by a steelers fan.

Since I'm told there are starters the first week of camp...

The Ravens first unit offensive line on the day was from left to right: Ronnie StanleyAlex LewisMatt SkuraJames HurstOrlando Brown, Jr…Yanda’s absence kicks Hurst inside and gives Little Zeus (6’8”, 345) more reps with the 1’s…

    Where's Siragusa?

Actually the one thing that is regularly clueless on here are your sentences..If it was meant to state something other than that, please elaborate..and in the future, please actually explain what you mean instead of expecting us to understand Stopperese, which in reality isn't a language at all.

No...we show reasons for excitement and YOU declare we have made statements of what will happen in the future. No one has said anything "factual" about the future of this franchise. That is an impossible thing to do, anyone that has common sense understands this.

Yes I did...I had MY #1 QB from that draft rated as a second round prospect based on where he went to school. I also compared him to Peyton Manning at one point, which you ridiculed me for. So, I'm not exactly sure what you are going for here either, other than making yourself look inadequate.

This is far as I have gotten caught up from the weekend, but I'm sure I'll have more to come.

Here's what I still don't get from some of the anti-Browns posters: why would we want to sit around here debating how this could be a 2-14 football team and the season really doesn't matter?

I get adversaries (al la, Steelers fans) wanting to pee in our cereal. If the tables were reversed and they had an unblemished 19 year streak of s**t football, I may constantly remind them of that, too. The trolls who know they're trolls, that's going to happen anywhere... but you've got this guy (@showstopper) who lives in Cleveland, was once a fan, but cannot stand anything they do, cannot muster a single positive thought or sentence for the team, seems to delight in their misery, and then chides us for being optimistic.

[freeze frame] [looks directly to camera #2]

@showstopper... I get it, pal. Back in the Weeden years, I was the same way. I was negative and pessimistic and convinced nothing good was going to happen to the team. You know what that got me?

    Jack. Squat.

Now, you don't strike me as a "rainbows and sunshine" type of dude, and that's fine. But you're not going to change anyone's opinion here... especially by being *checks notes* a colossal and irredeemable troll.

    That is all.

No, I didn't do anything of the sort. YOU make things up in your head and declare that WE declare absolute statements.

What I compared was using production of 3 players that equaled around $12M to balance out a single player asking for between $15-16M. With 3 players, you can afford an injury or other circumstance, of which Bell has a history of suspension to contend with.

What we have is a UFA in Hyde who ran for 938, caught another 350 yards and scored 8 TDs
We also are talking about the RB with more receiving yards than any other RB since 2015 in Duke Johnson, not some 3 tier guy who I am trying to add in his stats.
Then to add on the pile, they drafted Nick Chubb high in the draft, who had numbers comparable to Todd Gurley who is currently lighting up the NFL.

To Make Myself CLEAR...I am not comparing Nick Chubb to the NFL Todd Gurley, I am comparing him to the COLLEGE Todd Gurley as they went to the same school.

Nor have I ever stated that the 3 headed monster they have built will out perform Le'Veon Bell, it was all a comp for pay scale in the NFL.

You simply don't have the comprehension to understand what you are reading.

    Gurley (@Georgia): 3,285 rush yards (109.5 YPG), 36 TD, 6.4 YPC, 615 rec. yards, 6 rec. TD

    Chubb (@Georgia): 4,769 rush yards (101.5 YPG), 44 TD, 6.3 YPC, 361 rec. yards, 4 rec. TD

Gurley did that as the primary running back. Nick Chubb did that splitting carries.

I'll go ahead and say it.

The Browns' combination of Hyde, Johnson, and Chubb (plus Todd Haley) will surpass the statistical performance of Le'Veon Bell.

The Browns have the best run-blocking offensive line in the NFL (fact). They will use a committee approach to running the football, keeping all three guys (plus a terrific scrambling QB in Tyrod Taylor) fresher. They have a better offensive coordinator than (1) the Steelers, and (2) they did in 2017 when they had more rushing yards as a team than Pittsburgh did.

The Steelers have a very good run-blocking offensive line, but they're not the Browns. Le'Veon Bell has seen his YPC go down almost a full yard (4.9 in 2016 compared to 4.0 in 2017) while also picking up the most career touches he's ever had (406 total, not including post season). He's holding out due to contract concerns and has to play the improved Browns defense right out of the gate (he held out last season, too and notched a staggering 32 yards on 10 carries against the Browns Week 1).
