    Jets GM: Sam Darnold will compete for starting QB gig

    Appearing on "The Rich Eisen Show", Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan confirmed that No. 3 overall pick Sam Darnold will compete with veteran incumbent Josh McCown for the starting job.

    There's no reason to rush Sam onto the field. If he looks fantastic and wins the job then it's alright that he starts. If he looks like he needs some time to learn then let him learn.



    I want to be really optimistic about him but after Sanchez it's tough to stay upbeat.

    His small hand size is offset by the enormity of his testicles.



    If he does let the ball slip from an ass induced bump his sack will keep it aloft till he can gather it back in.
