I haven't even started on RBS yet...These are the only ones I've actually sat down and evaluated. I'm sure some of those names on the list will move down the list as I get more time to evaluate other players. I'm behind this year, been a busy time at work, busier than usual. It's starting to slow down, so I might get more done in the coming weeks to catch up.

As for the RBs, I've watched a couple of games and I will start by saying the ones I've watched, I still have Fournette as the front runner. I won't make a final decision though until I've watched at least 4 games and actually study their tendencies. Are they hesitant, do they turn up field once the hole collapses, do they have multiple skills(blocking or catching, and to what level).

I don't evaluate off of stats alone, I actually watch the player in the film. It isn't enough to just rip off a 30 yard run, what went into that run? Was it blocking, defense lack of discipline, or was it the back making a good read, breaking a tackle to get in the clear, etc.

  2. I agree there is more 2 evaluate than just stats...once u do I think u will see Fournette is a little overrated and injury prone

Leonard Fournette reminds me of a runner that we already have. His style isn't much different from Isaiah Crowell, and that's not a bad thing. He runs hard, tries to stick that foot, make one cut, and go...Cook is more twitchy. I agree with stopper that Cook will "splash" from day one, similarly to Marshall Faulk. Dude has crazy moves, balance and speed, and he is a three down back. Both are great prospects, but I'd take Cook any day if given the choice...He's about as good of a RB prospect as Zeke was IMO....

It's a tough call for me on the RB thing...As much as I love the idea of drafting a stud RB, I think maybe that is a luxury we can't afford right now. We have a couple solid RB's that will only be better if we get better production from the QB, and there is a ton of top end talent in this draft at other positions where we desperately need help...What would help the Cleveland Browns more, Teez Tabor or Malik Hooker in the secondary, or a #1 RB for the mix? Seems like a no brainer to me....If they go RB, then he better be really special. I think perhaps Cook will be something special, but at pick #12 I'm sure there will be so many other defensive options that I think would be more impactful given our current situation....Heck , I shouldn't just limit it to defensive options either. Of course the QB is possibility, and Corey Davis is a guy I like around 12, and I think Cam Robinson could be in play as well...

Am I the only one that sees the similarity between Crowell and Fournette between the lines?

Honestly, I am more worried about getting Crowell signed. There are reports that they contract talks have stalled. Is this regime smart enough to put a first or second round tender on Crowell? Otherwise, they may lose him to the RFA market. I don't think he believes he is used properly in Cleveland and honestly I would have to agree. He may seek employment elsewhere, in which case, RB gets shot right up there on the list of needs. Fortunately there is a lot of RBs available in this draft at or above Crowell's skill level, but we would have to use an earlier pick on one than I would like, since he is sitting there staring us in the face.

As for Crowell and Fournette, the styles are similar, it's the execution that puts Fournette on a totally different level than Crowell. Although, that could all change when he is facing smaller holes and superior opposition at the NFL level. I believe Fournette's first step after his initial cut is one of the fastest I have seen in a long time. I need to watch more film in depth to give a stronger opinion either way.
