Missed the 2006 season opener after having an appendectomy. Missed the 2007 season ending game because they rested starters. Missed the first 4 of 2010 due to suspension. He could have played with a bum ankle in 2011 vs the Rams (2 wins, 13 losses) but they had a playoff spot clinched and pretty confident they could win without him (27-0 final). I won't count this below but he would have played if necessary. Missed the 2017 season ending game because they rested starters. That's 7 games and (4) 16 game seasons missed not due to injury. So 19 games over 14 years is a little more than 1 per season.
I don't care what the retorts are, I was comparing him to Brett Favre. In their career, Favre has outplayed everyone, not just Ben... That is just one of the things that made #4 Great. I wasn't using that as an example of why Ben isn't considered great...it was in direct comparison to Favre. Truth is, 26 games over a 14 year career is nothing by normal standards, even for the great ones...it just shows how much more Favre put into the game, that's all.
I don't have a problem applauding Favre for his toughness but you laid out some pretty specific numbers referencing Ben's inability to play a full season. Just wanted to clear it up.
I think to say Rodgers isn't a first ballot is just a guess. I loved Favre and actually don't like Rodgers, but he is by far a better QB. Favre had much better teams than Rodgers has had. IMHO
I lost a lot of respect for Favre when he took what looked like a purposedly staged sack against Strahan to give him the sack record. Just saying. Now back to the Ben to Rudolph transistion - it will be glorious.
On Steelers depot they have an article about how Colbert is very happy with where Rudolph is right now, saying that he is way ahead of where they expected him to be.
