I think the Kraft/Brady/Belichick rift is very real. I truly believe if BB had his way he would of waited until the end of 2017 to figure out his QB situation. Brady obviously won the MVP and was great in a losing effort in the SB. However, I feel he would of liked the time to decide who he wanted. He really like Jimmy and Kraft made him trade him because of money. BB may of franchised him and it would of been a crazy number at one position even if that position is QB. So as soon as Kraft said, "um Bill, no way. We stick with Tom no matter what" BB was like F this guy(happened before with another hall of fame coach) and he pulls the ultimate "I am football operations you are the owner" move by sitting Butler for a minor thing. Now it has all backfired on BB and Brady is empowered, he's is like "finally this is my team" and his boys (Amandola and Gronk) are going to bat for him. However fuck Cassius, he was here for about 2 months. If BB got through the likes of Malloy and Seymour than Cassius is a speck of sand on a beach. Brady on the other hand.....

 

And that's not to say they'll go out an possibly win again. They are both so friggin competitive it's hard to fathom even watching all these years. They will truly never be a duo with those obsessive personalities as those two. It's been amazing to watch and has brought a lot of joy during some shitty times personally. To bad the cloud of cheating hangs over them. I feel it is a bit unfair, but, but I've been a Pats fan for 35 years and seen a lot of shitty football before Bledsoe/Parcells and that was medicore compared to what has gone on there in the last 2 decades. Just remember. Krafty talk Josh out of the Colts job. BB goes before Brady and he is going to be bitter about it till he dies.

 

Kraft’s fortune was built in a seemingly less flashy fashion than other NFL owners’. According to the Patriots’ website, he began his business career with Worcester, Mass.-based Rand-Whitney, a company that converted paper into packaging and containers for various products. Kraft would eventually buy that company out. In 1972, he founded International Forest Products, a paper goods merchant that now does business in more than 90 countries. Today, Kraft’s private holding company, The Kraft Group, counts five different packaging companies under its umbrella, according to its website, and in 2016, IFP was the top U.S. packaging exporter in New England and ranked sixth in the U.S. according to trade magazine the Journal of Commerce.

I remember selling Paint for a company called Edwards Paint to Rand Whitney and their maintenance guy came in and said Kraft literally gave away tickets and flights to his department for the Browns playoff game and this was in 95? maybe. I greyed out a lot of the 90s. And a rapper(not a very good one) that I was working for last summer while my sales gig was slow, ran into him in WooTown last week sent me an instergram saying Mr. Kraft still represents the Woo.

 

Former Patriots defensive end Cassius Marsh took some heat from New England fans when he said he’s glad to be with the 49ers because the Patriots don’t have any fun. But unlike some athletes whose words get them in trouble, Marsh isn’t claiming he was taken out of context or misunderstood.

Marsh released a video in which he doubled down on those comments about the Patriots, saying that if New England fans don’t like what he had to say, that’s their problem.

“I just want to address all you Patriots fans who don’t like this new article. I’m sorry to hurt your feelings. Seems to be breaking your heart. But if you can’t handle the truth, stay off my page. Don’t read articles. That’s how I felt. That’s how I still feel and I’m grateful to be away from there, grateful to be where I’m at.”

It’s to Marsh’s credit that he’s not trying to weasel out of his previous comments. Even if, given that Marsh lasted only a couple months in New England before the Patriots cut him, it appears that the Patriots didn’t think much of him, either. (PFT)

Matthew Stafford: Will be fun to see how tight end competition shakes out



There wasn’t much surprise when the Lions cut 2014 first-round pick Eric Ebron this offseason.

The tight end had four inconsistent seasons in Detroit and he was set to make $8.25 million under the terms of his fifth-year option, which the Lions exercised in 2017 in hopes that Ebron’s play made it more difficult to move on without him.

Surprising or not, the move leaves the Lions with an opening at tight end on the first team. They signed former Seahawk Luke Willson and former Falcon Levine Toilolo to go with 2017 fourth-round pick Michael Roberts for a competition that quarterback Matthew Stafford is looking forward to watching.

“You know, I think we’ve got a lot of talented guys in that room, honestly,” Stafford said, via the team’s website. “I think it’s going to be a fun spring and into summer to see kind of how that shakes out. They’re all working extremely hard. You know, really all of them learning a system that’s still somewhat new to them.”

General Manager Bob Quinn talked up Roberts’ “versatility to contribute in the passing game as a receiver, in protection, as well as his role last year was really probably one of our better blockers on the line of scrimmage.” He only caught four passes as a rookie, however, while Willson and Toilolo had 27 between them.

Ebron had 53 catches last year, so there would seem to be a big opportunity for someone’s numbers to go way up if they give Stafford the fun he’s looking for in the coming months. (PFT)

Brandon Marshall signs deal with Seattle Seahawks

Brandon Marshall will switch coasts to continue his NFL career.

The 34-year-old wideout is signing with the Seattle Seahawks, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday.

Entering his 13th season, Marshall will attempt to crack the Seahawks receiver rotation behind Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. The Seahawks could use Marshall's size in the red zone after losing TD-target Jimmy Graham in free agency.

At his age, with a declining skill-set, Marshall is no lock to earn a full-time role, but picked a location that gives himself the best chance to make a roster.

After a 1,502-yard season in 2015 with the New York Jets, Marshall's play fell off a steep cliff. He struggled to gain separation from defensive backs and was one of the least-efficient receivers in the NFL, catching just 59 passes for 788 yards and three TDs for the Jets in 2016.

In 2017 he switched locker rooms in New Jersey, signing with the Giants. The move worked out for neither side. Marshall played in just five games, catching 18 passes for 154 yards and zero scores. The Giants cut the veteran last month.

Marshall was met with a chilly market, Seattle being his only visit earlier this offseason. It could be the best landing spot for the veteran, as the Seahawks have a need in their pass-catching corps as they reformat the roster to benefit Russell Wilson.

Marshall famously has not made the playoffs once in his career. He now joins a rebuilding team that just had a five-year postseason streak snapped. Perhaps together they can turn back the clock.

Brandon Brooks coming out and saying that while playing under Bill O'Brien he almost quit because "it was no fun". Basically saying it was an extension of Belichick and the Patriot way. I dont think I have to express my take on this observation from the Eagle guard

 

Give me his contract and I'll work my ass off and have no fun, ... before the heart attack.

 

Packers practice today... looks like they were working on their anthem kneeling... just in case.

 

I can't help but be a Brandon Marshall fan and I hope he finally makes the playoffs with the Hawks while actually playing a role on offense.

 

Baldwin, Marshall and Lockett would be a formidable receiver corp for Wilson.

Gotta root for the old timers, lol.

Hell, he's 34. That makes me ancient history.

 

The Patriot Way has come under attack in recent days, from those who claim that the Patriots don’t have fun. To no surprise, coach Bill Belichick says it’s not about fun.

Asked during a Thursday press conference whether it’s important for you to come up with ways for players to feel like they’re enjoying themselves as they’re putting in the work that you ask them to put in,” Belichick was characteristically blunt.

“We feel what’s important to us is to win,” Belichick said. “So that’s really what we’re trying to do.”

Asked next about criticism from people like Eagles tackle Lane Johnson, Belichick was characteristically dismissive.

“Yeah, we’re focused on what we’re doing, trying to get better and taking each day we can to try to improve our football team,” Belichick said. “Not really focused on what everybody else is doing.”

Regardless, the noise of the Patriots being a No Fun Team seems to be growing. With guys like Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski opting to have actual fun in lieu of showing up for the daily effort to improve, it’s hard not to think there’s something to it this time. (PFT)

Quit your bitching and whining and go cash your ridiculous paychecks and polish your rings instead of running off with your mouths!

 

the Patriot Way could be the Chinese Water Torture for all I know but it produces a lot of wins and Super Bowls and that's all I care about. The Eagles just won their only Super Bowl and the feeling still hasn't worn off for the fans, the city and season ticket owners. I can't imagine having 5 Super Bowls! Or 6 for the Steelers. Winning wins. The rest takes a back seat !
