Can we boo Ben on here? I’m surprised no one started a thread about his radio interview yesterday producing more unnecessary off-season theatrics and shenanigans on his part.

 

What specifically do people not like about Goodell?

 

Why is there always drama with this team? It seems like they are a mess from the top down.

 

I know Ben has been a very good-great QB for the Steelers, but I for one will be happy when the Steelers have a QB that isn't an asshole.

I've had many opportunities to be around Ben and choose not to. No questioning his football talent. I would like a model citizen who can also master the position on the field as the QB for the greatest team in the history of the NFL. JMHO

 

Though some will argue against me for this it starts with the coach. If you have a coach that doesnt put up with BS then you dont have a lot of BS. If your coach is okay with BS then you get a ton of BS. The patriots are not completely drama free but they have less of it than most teams because Belichick doesnt allow it heck guys dont even bitch about him (in the media) until after they leave to go to another team. Our coach on the other hand doesnt seem to care.

 

I believe Ben is worried now that we have a QB that might actually be competent enough to displace him on the roster. So if Ben feels some heat hopefully it will drive him to play great every game instead of a small stretch. Either that or he will press to hard and force the Steelers to change QBs.

 

There is plenty of drama w NE..the Butler incident on the biggest stage is great enough, Gronk is always partying and it makes headlines, the whole Garropolo BS that was going on during the season after the trade...if your good there will b drama here or there

 

He didn't say shit when the Steelers drafted Dobbs in the 4th last year, but he's getting jittery with MR being selected just one round earlier this time around.

 

Because Rudolph is good enough to be a quality starter. The others aren’t.

I voted with the majority ... and wazoo ... he's an asshole, every bit the whining bitch named Bradshaw... do you guys remember who and how many QB's we had in 2003 when whiny for mouth came on board ... counting him, it was 4 .... Maddox, Batch Lapierre and shit for brains. Don't remember him crying then and as far as I'm concerned can't be trusted now ... anywhere from a 5 intercept performance "do I have it any more" to "this might very well be my last season" to "I could play 3 - 5 more" ... simply can't imagine why the FO might want to hedge their collective bets on a really good prospect at a ridiculously good value, per round-wise. Especially when pkrhd is about as clear as mud in regards to the end of his career. Confusion abounds but he wants us to only remember the last thing he says he said ... until the next last thing he says which will beeeee ???

He actually went out of his way to bad mouth a *not even to camp yet rookie* by intentionally misquoting him in regards to future help from Dumbassburger. Mason said Ben didn't have to help if he was so inclined ... you know Ben, stop following a 40 year tradition of upgrade and excellence in positional help not just to assist the individual but maintain the excellence of the team by providing career improving assistance to the new guy, when asked, and again, intentionally misquote the kid for your own sake. By the way, thanks for throwing the coaching staff and the FO under the bus as well while you were at it ... you're really something special, aren't you Ben ? You know better than everybody. I, for one do not trust you to put the team first. Your words and attitude speak volumes in another direction ... it's all about you ...

Can you tell I'm pissed ?... he's every bit the cancer to the team as Bradshaw is but at least, for all intents and purposes Bradshaw waited till he was gone ... Roethlisburger is a first class prick who has once again shown his true "it's all about me" colors ...

but I for one will be happy when the Steelers have a QB that isn't an asshole... you're in good company wazoo, about 64% of us so far ...

This past year there was more noise in NE than normal but overall it stays quiet. Even with the stuff of last year how much of that was generated by media rtaher than players?

All this talk of Ben being an a-hole....Lol, most of us here on this site are overly opinionated a-holes so maybe having Ben around a few more years to hopefully win another super bowl should suit us?

 

Obviously you haven't had any interactions with Ben outside of watching him on TV. He's one of the biggest assholes around.

 

I don’t know why Ben is bitching so much. If he is playing good he wouldn’t have anything to worry about.

 

I have not, nor have I ever indicated I have. Lifetime Steelers fan though, and I have been watching a long time. Both of our super bowl winning QBs have strong personalities. I don’t know what you mean specifically because a-hole is a pretty general term but I believe you when you indicate you have access to be around the team a lot if you so choose. I respect your opinions a lot as you already know. Regardless, there are all kinds of a-holes in this world - loveable a-holes, unloveable a-holes, and everything in between ... and I get you seem to be falling on the side of Big Ben being an unloveable a-hole.

Who knows, I have no way of knowing for sure what Ben is, but I am a fan of what he does on the field more than I am not.

Experience has taught me we are all a-holes to some degree or another. It is my belief that this is especially so of those who are especially judgmental of others. There are many reasons to call someone an a-hole: jealousy, virtue signaling, piling on, projecting, etc. and yes, sometimes an a-hole is just an a-hole. Like you said, I’m not around Ben so how can I know for certain?

Maybe if Rudolph said “Ben is incredible, I am excited to learn whatever I can from him” then Ben’s response would’ve been different.

I don’t know man, I am just an average fan. I do recall an old expression though we all have probably heard: “opinions are like a-holes, we all have one of them.”
