Looks like we're about to find out how good Mike munchak really is!!!!

 

I do like all of today's picks on their own merits. I am kind of surprised to see three consecutive offensive draft picks. I expected a defense-heavy draft.

 

Chuckwuma Oakafor whoever said I saw that one coming is fulla shit

 

I've been out most of the evening, so I missed some of the earlier board reactions. When Washington was picked in the 2nd (I was keeping up with the draft on my phone) I was excited. But I was kind of surprised to see that reaction was not shared on the board. This guy was great in college-- and he had a visit with the team, so he was on my short list for WRs this draft. Rudolph is really intriguing as a developmental guy. And Okorafor was also on the Steelers radar in the build-up to the draft.

Unfortunately, it is not a great draft for ILB, and what there is did not line up with the Steelers' picks.

 

It's always good to draft a big ugly, and with the loss of Chris Hubbard this makes sense. Don't know anything about Okorafor beyond seeing his name in some pre-draft lists. I feel better about day 2, but maybe I shouldn't. My initial reactions to drafts don't always match up with how they turn out.

 

Who the hell is that? Usually I’m at least familiar with the players selected in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

 

Yeah we’re facing Sandy Koufax today, nasty curve balls from the left side of the mound. Oakafer is still better than Dri Archer

When the Steelers pick cane up they had Edmunds as the BPA on their board which also fit a need but that doesn’t mean their board is accurate. I still don’t like that pick and they could have moved back to get more picks and probably still pick him.
I’m ok with the 2nd round pick, they’re good at picking WRs so I trust that pick. love the Rudolph pick could be the steal of the draft (time will tell), for the second pick in the 3rd round I thought they should have double dipped at S and taken Harrison instead of the OT.

 

Anyone else shocked that people bitchin' about picks this year are newbies?
Maybe we just didn't have the same presence we've had in years past, but damn.
I was expecting a shit show, and you all know me, I'm the one that sits around not saying anything until a point needs to be made.

Anyone want to know my thoughts?

Colbert and Tomlin must not like Alabama players for personal reasons, maybe, because that defense not only mimics the Steelers more than any other but is arguably the best in college.
They have great players that would fit the Steelers scheme.

 

Mayok wasn't high on Oakafer at all. Did the Steelers reach big time?

 

There are a few in this forum that have a better track record

 

The first round pick was projected to go in the third. The rest of the picks were offensive players. I can see why people are not excited about this draft.

 

Gotta say I'm pretty happy with picks up until OL kid. We lost a good one to Cleveland but this kid, who I am sure has some great upside will still be a project... I, as always, completely trust the Steeler's FO and staff, but this one is a little strange to me.

I really thought Micah Kiser would be in a black and Gold uniform upon our last pick.

Today will be interesting, but the talent level is dropping off dramatically. They do come up, year after year, with some good late round picks, sooooo ...

 

Coming into the draft I was hoping that they got help at ILB and a replacement for Bell.

 

I'm not too upset.......NO CORNERS taken in the first round again this year.

Usually the first box on my evaluation form. Don't care how high they are rated, or who falls......NO CORNERS in the 1st.
