Except for the fact that Haslam signed off on the #1 pick last night and he (Dorsey) went over it with Jackson, Williams and Haley this morning. So, how does a GM keep the #1 pick a secret from the Head Coach, Offensive and Defensive Coordinators while he sits down with them to get their input and then sit down with the entire coaching staff to get their last minute thoughts/input on the entire draft board?
By simply starting from what to do at pick 4 on, hypothetically... Or asking what positions they’re the most worried about, while not discussing specifics. I dunno. Just speculating
Easy when #1 is a QB and has no bearing on the rest of your board. Owner may or may not know the #1 pick, but it's pretty easy to keep it from anyone else. Sorry, I forgot the non-QB draft board is just impossible to discuss if you don't know the QB at #1. The story has merit. The coaches may even know #1 after the story came out but it isn't out of the realm of possibility as it isn't need-to-know. Whether it's Allen, Darnold, Mayfield or whoever, what they think of guys afterwards isn't going to change.
I have a hard time believing Dorsey has kept the pick to himself. These guys are putting in 15-18 hour days together. He's not telling the rest of his guys in his fox hole, "Sorry but I can't trust you guys with this information." No freaking way.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. That's all I'm saying. The stories don't contradict. I'm not saying if I believe it or I don't. It doesn't matter to me either way.
Then why even comment on it to begin with? The bullshit headline states that Dorsey "won't tell Jackson who the #1 pick is". That's clearly bullshit because he's already sat down with the owner, head coach and coordinators and told them who it is and that contradicts this bullshit headline.
Show me one place where it says that. It says they sat down for the draft board and plan, nothing about knowing #1.
Ok, Joe. I surrender. Guess I'll stop watching tbe local news and just wait for you to tell me what's going on.
No it's cool. Enjoy that news that apparently no one else in the world but people in Cleveland can hear about.
I don't know what happened, you don't know what happened. Both stories could be true or one or both could be BS. I am certain yours is true. Why wouldn't it be? But they aren't mutually exclusive.
Anyways. It doesn't matter. Have a good draft and please don't draft Josh Allen. I don't think he'll succeed there. Unless you prevent Buffalo from doing so. Then go ahead and take him.
No problem. The thread was getting a little boring anyway. Needed to spice things up. Even though I originally posted it, I also found it hard to believe that Dorsey would do that. That's why I found the headline funny. But.....also watching the Browns dysfunction from afar for many seasons, nothing would surprise me when it came to them.
It's the offseason before draft time. No harm down, especially since one of us introduced to the topic. Now, per the topic, I find it extremely hard to believe that actually happened also. Is it possible, sure. Anything is. But I seriously doubt it.
Good luck to the Ravens. No matter what the pick is I hope you guys are stoked about it and immediately get them good vibes for 2018.
I'm hoping for a receiving threat or interior OL. Preferably a true center, as long as it's a R1 value
Bius just picked Vita Vea at 12 and the Ravens pick is coming up fast. I think they end up getting shot at taking the first WR. I doubt they go Hayden unless they trade back. Same for Vander Esche. They could also go OL here too - only two off the board now. Derwin James can still slide to them too.
So it seems like the defensive players are falling, but do the Ravens get ballsy and actually go WR? I just have a hard time envisioing QB
