1 person "knows" this is not happening, and he's not even sharing it with his boss until next Wednesday. If it is pertaining to my drafts, I was basing it off the board and the projection that the QB of want would not go 2 or 3 which in most cases he didn't. The one he did go 2, I snagged Mason at the end of the second rd which was pretty damn solid IMHO.
I like that a lot SAS... But I like this one even more, if I'm being honest... (edit) Although, there is 0% chance Sony Michel is there at #64 in real life...Only bad part about these simulators..
RIP Earle Bruce Earle Bruce died Friday at age 87 COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Earle Bruce, the legendary former Ohio State football coach, died Friday at the age of 87. A former player and assistant coach at Ohio State, as well as the head coach for nine seasons from 1979 to 1987, Bruce was a beloved Buckeye and a giant in college football. He also served as the head coach at Tampa, Iowa State, Northern Iowa and Colorado State. His former assistants - Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Pete Carroll and Jim Tressel - have won 11 of the last 16 National Championships in college football.
Earl Bruce was the head coach at my High School when I was in freshman ball. Both of my older brothers played for Coach Bruce. I just missed. RIP Coach Bruce.
Browns GM John Dorsey said during his pre-draft press conference he thinks "hand size is important" when looking for a quarterback. It's possible foreshadowing as the Browns have continuously been linked to Wyoming QB Josh Allen, who has the largest hand size among quarterbacks in this year's class, with the No. 1 overall pick. "You'll laugh at me when I say it, but I think hand size is important,'' Dorsey said. "Hand size in November and December, when it's snowing, raining, it's getting muddy...We all know the elements in Cleveland are going to play a role." Dorsey also went out of his way to acknowledge the Browns are making sure Sam Darnold, who fumbled 21 times in 24 starts at USC, has adequate hand size to hang on to the football in AFC North stadiums late in the season. "You worry about that sometimes," he said. Cleveland has reportedly "considered" drafting a quarterback with both the No. 1 and No. 4 overall picks
Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen or USC quarterback Sam Darnold? Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield or Allen? Allen is out of the equation. UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen is out of the equation.' Those are the storylines that Cleveland Browns fans have heard over the past week. There are either national media members taking guesses or the Browns are manipulating the national media. Either way, Browns247 is not buying into any of these reports. Most are citing an NFL executive or a friend of Dorsey so the information is not coming directly from the source as it were. But let's be clear, General Manager John Dorsey KNOWS who he is taking with the No. 1 overall selection. He knows. There should not be conflicting information leaking at this stage if anyone in the media truly knew. There are two days left until the 2018 NFL Draft. There is no more work to be done with the possible exception of trade explorations. The hay is in the barn. A few interesting remarks have been made recently. First, it was said that Assistant General Manager Eliot Wolf and Dorsey are really the ones making the final decision. Beyond those two men, it sounds like most, even in the organization, will not know the pick until Wednesday night. The Athletic's Zac Jackson reported that head coach Hue Jackson will not know the pick until Wednesday night. A similar report was made in regards to owner Jimmy Haslam, who, of course, has become known for his consultation of a homeless man and the decision to draft quarterback Johnny Manziel. Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said on 'Golic & Wingo' that only three people ever knew about his team's draft pick before the public. The idea that the coaching staff and everyone in the front office is walking around knowing the pick is a fallacy. A year ago, with a completely different front office, fans were going through something similar. Despite being the near unanimous selection across the league, Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett was hearing rumors that Cleveland was still considering North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. The actual pick did start leaking the morning of the draft. Browns247 previously wrote that fans need to adopt Aaron Rodgers' R-E-L-A-X over the next few days. The 2018 NFL Draft takes place from Apr. 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Cleveland holds nine selections over the course of three days including the No. 1 and No. 4 overall selections. Crazy Crextin’s Mad Musings: 2018 Draft #1 Whichever QB Dorsey thinks is “THE GUY”; We all have our personal opinions on which QB is the best of this class. Additional Tidbits: Darnold: I just can’t see it… I really don’t… "I'm not trying to change my throwing motion at all. I think I get the ball off pretty quick. There is kind of a wind-up, but I think I get it off quick and that's what matters," Darnold said. Carries the ball too low and doesn’t always keep two hands on the ball. Will surpass Sanchez in the most embarrassing turnover department. Rosen: Has all the tools, and may develop into a quality starter. Just not sure he’ll be a 10 year starter, or take a team to the playoffs. “The problem I have with him is there is a durability issue. The shoulder issue in ’16, two concussions in ’17, and when you combine that with an inability to escape from the pocket, I’m concerned.” Will suffer season ending injury early in career and never be the same and never live up to draft hype. Sits Alongside Darnold in the PLEASE don’t draft me category. Jackson: Dark horse for Dorsey at #1. I see Taylor and Jackson with similar skill sets. Rudolph: Just praying he’s not drafted by a division rival. #4 Basically, comes down to two choices a chance at the best RB or the best a DE. Depending on what the giants do @#2 the Browns may chose or trade down for the right price. #33/#35 IMHO Take the BPA and add depth. Round 2 is where I think the Browns can improve the overall depth of the roster. From about selection 20 through 50 there isn’t a whole lot of separation. Dorsey and the Browns should have their pick of the litter. RB – Hyde/Johnson is a solid duo. Depth continues to be a question. Possible selections include: Derrius Guice, Louisiana State; Ronald Jones, USC; Sony Michel, Georgia OT - Replacing Thomas will be next to impossible. HOF LT’s just don’t grow on trees. With the recent additions to the O-line in FA, this may/may not be as big of a weakness as perceived. WR – The recent additions of Landry and Janis in FA, added a needed veteran presence. On paper this group looks better. The scary part is Gordon is a failed whiz quiz away from permanent banishment, Coleman can’t stay healthy, and the depth behind them is not so great. DT/DE – Not sure how big of a hole shipping Shelton off to the Patriots has truly left, he just never developed like a first round selection. Looking at this group there is defiantly potential in Nassib and Brantley. Maeder and Coley look good as backups, but again Depth is needed. LB – Depth is an issue here. I honestly don’t have any OLB/ILB ranked in this area the break for me is top 1/3 of the first round (1-20) or late second early third (55+). Possible selections include: Rashaan Evans, Alabama; Leighton Vander Esch, Boise State (I seriously doubt either one would be here) DB – Given the additions in FA, a DB of any sort is almost like a luxury pick. Depth IS A GOOD THING! Possible selections include: Joshua Jackson, Iowa; Jaire Alexander, Louisville; Isaiah Oliver, Colorado; Mike Hughes, UCF; Ronnie Harrison, Alabama; Justin Reid, Stanford.
Crazy Crextin’s 5-RD Mad Mock 2018 Draft #1 Put a gun to my head and I’d take Mayfield #4 Spoiler Bradley Chubb, DE, NC State What else can I say? Defense wins championships! A tailor-made 4-3 defensive end, Chubb is one of the most complete prospects in this year’s draft class. Multiple pass rush moves, excellent at stopping the run, setting the edge, and athletic enough to cover from time to time. I love the idea of a three headed monster rotating between Ogbah, Garrett and Chubb should be enough to give opposing QB’s nightmares. Williams should be able to get creative with defensive alignments. If available, Barkley is a tempting option, but IMHO the better choice here is Chubb. #33 Spoiler OT Kolton Miller, UCLA Miller is extremely quick. Not only is he fast of foot, Miller quickly diagnoses pass rushes and blitz schemes, reorienting his body so that he can deliver the most effective block possible. He’s not afraid to meet defenders at the second level and is capable of sealing an edge to open up space down field for his tailback. After spending his final collegiate season at left tackle, he’ll be capable to play on either side of the line. In time he could develop into a top OT in the league. #35 Spoiler D.J. Moore, Maryland Steadily improved production each season and showed tangible growth despite poor QB play. Moore caught passes from eight different quarterbacks in his three seasons, including four different passers in 2017 alone. Ended career with 33-game streak of at least one reception. Totaled 75 yards receiving or more in 10-of-12 games. Well-regarded by teammates and coaches. Never showed obvious frustration despite inaccurate passers trying to get him the ball but played with positive passion and fire. A guy that will be a solid #2WR borderline WR#1 #64 Spoiler Shaquem Griffin, OLB/S, UCF Missing paw harrumph! The kid can play ball! ACC DPOY, Cotton Bowl MVP. He can play off the ball. He can play on the edge. He can move out to the slot. He can play safety. And boy, will he ever make an impact on special teams. The leadership, the versatility, the determination . . . it’s all rolled into a complete package. An impact special teamer/rotational player coupled with the upside to develop into a quality starter. His biggest impact will be how his on-field chops and off-field intangibles will make the players around him that much better. A guy tailor made for William’s hybrid style of defense. I admit when I started researching OLB with coverage skills this kid kept coming up as one of the top LB’s in this class. At first I thought he’d be a solid 4-5 pick, but as I did more digging and film study, he’s not making out of the third round! I want this kid wearing the orange and brown. This guy would really put some Bite back into the DAWG POUND. My homer pick this year. #114 Spoiler Kalen Ballage, RB, Arizona State A large sturdy back who is capable chunk yardage, hauling in tough passes out of the backfield, and even hurdling defenders. He has the strength and power to win short yards and he excels at catching the ball out of the backfield. The physical traits to be a bruiser back. #150 Spoiler Foloronsu Fatukasi, DT, Connecticut Fatukasi has ideal frame for an interior defensive lineman. Big offensive linemen try to move him, and it's like his spikes have grown roots in the ground. He's a super-strong 6-4 and 315 pounds and is not solely a block-eater. He moves very well and has lead pipes for arms. He commands double teams, is a run stuffer, gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He also gets a good push on offensive line, and he uses his power to get through the offensive line. On the other hand, he has issues with fast backs, and quarterbacks at times, and he does not have the best speed, but that does not hurt his game.
