I hate to keep calling you out beach...but you are BACK AGAIN, attempting to stir up something that isn't there...

The emphasis is getting hand size at least 9 1/4 inches in order for it to not effect play...

    Allen - 10 1/8"
    Rosen - 9 7/8"
    Mayfield - 9 1/2"
    Jackson - 9 1/2"
    Darnold - 9 3/8"
    Rudolph - 9 1/8"

So, unless you are trying to say Rudoplph is being considered at the top of the draft, why even bring it up?

A NFL network reporter is talking about an interview with the Browns GM about his upcoming QB selection and it's not relevant in the L4SN Browns QB thread? Do you think Browns fans only want to read about things you approve of?

  6. beachbum Legend Manager Steelers

And for the record since you seem to be telling all of Browns fandom that the only thing that matters is whether or not the QB meets the 9 1/4+ threshhold it appears Dorsey (fkn troll) disagrees with you ...

Question: "Is there anything unique about this QB search being here in Cleveland, this division, that changes what you look for?"

Answer: "No, you know, well I mean we all know the elements are gonna play a role, ummm I think you all laugh at me when I say it but I think hand size is important, uh and with that being said hand size in November / December when the elements are, uh when it's snowing, it's raining, it's getting muddy, that's what you were talking about [points to another writer who asked earlier question about Darnold's fumbles] in terms of the fumbles of Darnold sometimes, you worry about that sometimes, so hand size."

So he's asked about what is unique about scouting for a QB in Cleveland and he takes an opportunity to talk about Darnold's hands and suggest that maybe his fumbles could be more problematic in the Cleveland weather. Josh Allen is the next Browns QB and you are all going to buy his jersey and he's going to win and the Browns are going to be relevant for the first time in a long time. And yes I know that somehow makes me a troll.

    Its silly season.

Should the man with one of the largest amounts of draft capital in history just stand up there and announce his big board? Should he give us player by player breakdowns of who and why?

He's throwing scraps at the peasants. That is all that conversation was.

He has clearly outlined dozens of other times what traits his QB should have. This is just giving people something to talk about and not know what his thought is.

He is definitely playing it close to the vest but there were a couple of times where he got talking and let out some insight. That exchange about Cleveland elements was one of those times. He had no reason to go back and reference Darnold's fumbles. That question had already been asked and answered.

Because he's a troll. And trolls gotta troll.

I just find it hard to believe that as calm, calculated, and controlling as Dorsey has been with and about draft information that he would just accidentally let something like that slip.

    It was intentional.

Did you see it? Or read it?

p.s. There is zero reason for Dorsey to do this btw. Everyone knows he's taking a QB at 1. All the subterfuge in the world doesn't help him or change that.

    FWIW...

There have been a ton of these reports this offseason.

Just yesterday, the reports shifted again to now Dorsey is between Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen.

So far, the only one's we have been locked into at #1 are Josh Rosen and Lamar Jackson. Watch it be one of those two and people set themselves on fire when it's announced.

First off, he wasn't talking about an interview, he was reporting on his press conference..so unless you are wanting to talk about the press conference as a whole, then you are just being argumentative.

Yes, I don't disagree with you...I DO believe they look at hand size. He has also been quoted months ago, and Hue has mentioned the same exact thing months ago...talking about studies and it is believed that in order to be able to grip the ball properly, the studies have shown they need to be minimally at 9 1/4".

Then YOU go on to say this, Dorsey didn't:

He at no point talked specifically about Darnold being more problematic in Cleveland. Here is EXACTLY what he said:

"In terms of the uh, you said fumbles?"

-reporter- Yeah, in terms of QB, especially Darnold, where he has so much more than anybody else.
Dorsey-"Yeah, I think you have to sit and evaluate how he handles the mechanics with the ball and what are the causes of the fumble? I think you evaluate that on a case by case basis"

Never did he lead to a conclusion that..Well, I think this team will be led better by Allen BECAUSE he has 10" hands..

Here is some more from that presser..I actually watched the entire thing, not just one excerpt:

Q- Have you dialed in on a QB?
"You have to listen to ALL the information that's filtered to you, but you also have to WATCH THEM PLAY THE GAME and WHO HAS BEST IMPACTED IT. That's how I look at games is important, how did they play the game of football? Are they good people, do they love the game of football, do their teammates like them? That's how I look at things."

Q- Is it easier for a coaching staff to fix the fumbles of Sam Darnold or the completion percentage of Josh Allen?
"ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THE WINNING? OK, does he have accuracy? Does he have a strong arm? Can he throw the ball in the red zone, you know, in tight windows and drive the ball? AND AT THE END OF THE GAME, DOES HE WIN? That's kinda what I look for."

Q- In general when you evaluate QBs, I know everything matters, but what matters more TO YOU, the arm or the brain, being able to process the defenses, what truly matters to you in a QB?
"I mean it's not as easy to separate the two. I think you have to be able to assess the whole package. We are human beings, we have to be able to take the physical skill sets and also the emotional sill sets that make the body move around the field. How does he react to adverse situations? So, I think it's a combination of how he moves around the field, but then do they have the physical, you know, skill sets to do those things needed to be highly successful in the National Football League"

So, you mentioned a SINGLE aspect of an entire presser and came to the conclusion that Josh Allen is going to be the #1 pick overall..that's your prerogative. And yes, if it happens, there will be a lot of Josh Allen jerseys sold, I agree on that as well...

However, if you REALLY want to study the presser in it's entirety, there really is ONE single QB that he is describing regularly...I know you don't want to believe it and I'm sure somewhere stopper is typing his two cents that I won't ever read...but that guy is becoming more and more likely by the day. ;)

At this point, I am more interested in who he will be paired with at the #4 pick..

I watched the entire press conference and nothing I said is untrue or controversial.

Well, there was the part where you only mentioned one aspect of a 26 minute press conference and determined Josh Allen was the pick because of it...but, who is keeping track?

Naw, I really don't see beach as a troll..that's isn't what I am saying really. I just think he's bored and trying to get an argument going. I actually like talking with him most of the time.

I also don't classify Beach as a troll but I don't believe he starts discussion in order to get into an argument. Rather, I truely believe they end up that way simply because we, as a group, are just fed up with all of the "Browns will be Browns" commentary every where we turn.
