You actually hit on several of their needs and did it without having to make moves similar to what I did for them in the GMO. Dawson and Tolliver make for some solid additions to underneath coverage and Fountain and Quinn add to Watson's arsenal. Corbett was a definite need and Jacobs was on my radar in case I missed out on my LBs for SF. Another solid draft. I've noticed you have taken Quinn a couple times now. Is there something specific you see in his game that you think translates really well?
@MemphisKing10 really wants me to auto them. Good news for them it is the only 5th rounder I have left on my board.
Doubling up on WR is a solid move and adding a tackle in the first is something I hadn't considered for the Ravens, but now I think I like that move quite a bit. If you get the good version of Micah then he's a solid pick in the 4th. Nice effort and a solid draft. I hope you decide to continue repping the Ravens next season.
Just 1 more very late pick each. Assuming I don't get sniped I've decided on all of them but Mr. Irrelevant for quite some time now. PACKERS 1(15) Marcus Davenport, OLB - UTSA 2(13) Isaiah Oliver, CB - Colorado 3(6) DeShon Elliott, FS - Texas 3(24) Braden Smith, OG - Auburn 4(1) Michael Gallup, WR - Colorado State 5(6) Oren Burks, LB - Vanderbilt 5(11) Dalton Schultz, TE - Stanford 6(34) Brandon Facyson, CB - Virginia Tech 7(26) Nick Gates, OT - Nebraska 7(38) TBD CHARGERS 1(17) Da'Ron Payne, DL - Alabama 2(16) James Daniels, C/OG - Iowa 3(12) Jamarco Jones, OT - Ohio State 4(21) Tarvarious Moore, DB - Southern Miss 6(13) Martez Carter, RB - Grambling State 7(33) TBD EAGLES 2(9) Justin Reid, S - Stanford 3(3) Rashaad Penny, RB - San Diego State 4(9) Alex Cappa, OT - Humboldt State 5(12) Chris Herndon, TE - Miami 5(32) Jaleel Scott, WR - New Mexico State 7(36) TBD Traded Ronald Darby for S Derrick Kindred, 5(12) & 2019 Browns 3rd.
I think he has the toughness for the Welker / Edelman role which IMO is the least talked about quality in those two players and not as easy to find as people think. Should have been 3 for 3 on the three drafts but I forgot about him.
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. I will let another board member step in but can always take over again if no one does.
All 3 of these drafts addressed needs and improved the rosters. I like the value on Elliott, Daniels and Reid so you ended up with a strong value get for all three teams IMO. Jaleel Scott to the Eagles feels like an immediate 5th round win at WR. I like all 3 of these drafts. When you took Reid, was it strictly BPA or do you feel like Philly needs to look at safety early?
He was not BPA but he was close. BPA were Sutton or Daniels. But I would have taken Reid at 32 and I also had Connor Williams and maybe Hughes higher at that point as well. I just really seem to be on board with him going to the Eagles if he were to make it to their pick.
Yeah, I grok this from top to bottom. As has been discussed earlier, there weren't all that many linemen this year who were truly worth an early pick. You grabbed one while you could, then followed it up with a pair of picks that should instantly revamp your passing attack. You were drafting from the back half of the pack and still made a significant impact on the team. Nice job. Bozeman will be a nice puzzle piece as long as you don't rush him this year. I'm pretty big on Izzo and would have considered grabbing him as my first UDFA choice had he gone untaken for the 18 remaining picks.
My favourite picks for each of my teams are the ones no one has yet to really mention. PACKERS: 3(24) Braden Smith, OG - Auburn CHARGERS: 4(21) Tarvarious Moore, DB - Southern Miss EAGLES: 3(3) Rashaad Penny, RB - San Diego State Although for the Eagles it was hard for me to pick a favourite. Not because of their picks as much as because the others stood out for me more for the other teams.
For the Iggles, the whole thing boils down to whether you like the Darby trade. Given the info available at the time, it makes perfect sense to me - and the future 3rd is sweet. Jaleel Scott is the wild card that could put this over the top if he can make the transition from small school to the NFL. For the Packers, my favorite pick is Dalton Schultz. He's old school, and he could easily be an instant starter for a team that goes that route at TE. That's a steal in the fifth round. Payne should instantly change the tone of the entire Chargers defense. It's all gravy after that. I didn't know anything about Carter, but he seems like an interesting roll of the dice.
Carolina Panthers draft 2.2 Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M 2.8 Arden Key, DE, LSU 3.7 Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia 3.33 J.C. Jackson, CB, Maryland 4.6 R.J. McIntosh, DT, Miami 5.24 Luke Falk, QB, Washington State 5.35 Sean Welsh, OG/C, Iowa 6.23 Jordan Akins, TE, UCF 6.33 Toby Weathersby, OT, LSU 7.14 Damon Webb, S, Georgia
It just hit me exactly when you took him. This was the player that I was targeting at 7-26, so had I stayed put and not traded up to grab the cornerback instead, I would have been sniped pretty badly on this one at 7-25. Great pick.
