Couldn't agree less. Civic pride and standing for the anthem is meant as a tribute to those that have served and died so that we may continue to have the freedoms intended by the creators of this nation. I will never understand the hate for a country that gives everyone an opportunity to shape their own destiny regardless of race, religion or opinion. We may not all have the same starting line, which is determined by wealth more so than race, but we still all have inalienable rights granted to us that revolve around the one true concept of this nation. It's one word - Independence.
Independence is a subjective term. Other countries have independence too. Americans seem to think we’ve got a patent on that thing. Simply isn’t true. It’s hard to get over the decades of brainwashing.
I made no mention of any other countries rights. I gave my opinion on what standing for the anthem represents. Care to correct your comment on brainwashing?
I’m not saying I’m right and anyone else is wrong beyond the fact of how I FEEL about this. You’re in the same boat I’m in as far as I’m concerned. One of us is port side and the other is star board. It’s all opinion and it’s based on our own experiences. I could be wrong... I don’t think so, but it is possible.
And I'm not singling you out with my previous statement, but because lines have been drawn in the sand it's the first conclusion that you automatically go to. I get it. It's your opinion, you feel strongly about it and you're more than willing to debate it or get in the mud with it to defend it. My point is that everyday I see people immediately snubbing someone without hearing them out because, in their world, the only opinion that matters is their own. Everyone refuses to take the time to hear the other person out or be open to the possibility that they may be wrong. Maybe it's because of the line of work that I chose that forces me to constantly reconsider my positions in an effort to create the best possible results for myself, but I see a never ending lack of empathy for another person's point of view in all walks of life. All you have to do is go and read about 4 pages in the political section to see how people treat someone with an opposing point of view. I don't hold my opinion above yours or anyone else. In fact, I learn more about my own opinions through disagreements with others about theirs. But again, it's what I do everyday so maybe it's just easier for me not to get offended when someone disagrees with me.

BEREA, Ohi0 -- In 1999, the Browns drafted Tim Couch with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. It was the last time the Browns used the first pick in the draft on a quarterback. With the likelihood that the Browns will use the top pick in 2018 on a quarterback, it is only fitting that Couch will return to Cleveland to be one of the analysts on the Browns preseason games. Couch along with former ESPN host Jay Crawford will do the Browns preseason games this year. The duo will replace Mike Patrick and Solomon Wilcots, who have done the games in the previous years. Frank, If you choose not to waste your time watching a pregame "War Celebration" . . . Then don't watch it. After all, its a free country (thanks to those who gave their lives so you can choose to do and think anything you wish to do or think). Signed, Captain Obvious
BEREA, Ohio -- There wasn't much debate if the Browns would sign Josh Gordon for the 2018 season. The bigger question would he be able to avoid another suspension for substance abuse that has plagued him since he joined the Browns in 2012. On Monday, the Browns announced that they have signed exclusive rights free agents Gordon, along with wide receiver Matt Hazel, offensive lineman Austin Reiter and fullback Danny Vitale. The contracts are for the 2018 season. Monday also marks the start of the Browns’ 2018 offseason program. Gordon joined the Browns as a second-round pick in the 2012 supplemental draft. He has appeared in 40 games and recorded 179 receptions for 3,089 yards and 15 touchdowns. In 2013, he led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards. He appeared in five games in 2017 and registered 18 receptions for 335 yards and one touchdown. If Gordon plays at least six games in 2018, he can be a restricted free agent after the 2018 season, which allows the Browns to match any offer he would get. He has not had more than two accrued seasons in a row since being drafted in 2012. Hazel was signed to the Browns’ active roster from Indianapolis’ practice squad on Dec. 13, 2017. Originally a sixth-round pick by Miami in 2014, Hazel has appeared in nine career games. Reiter was signed to the Browns’ active roster from Washington’s practice squad on Sept. 20, 2016. Originally a seventh-round pick by Washington in 2015, Reiter has appeared in 17 career games, including all 16 with the Browns in 2017. Vitale was signed to the Browns’ active roster from Tampa Bay’s practice squad on Oct. 14, 2016. Originally a sixth-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2016, Vitale has appeared in 24 career games with nine starts. He appeared in 15 games with six starts last year.
