I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to elude to here beach...He says he loves Allen....AND HOPES HE STAYS IN SCHOOL, because he has a howitzer, it's EASY to love a college prospect, but loving his arm and understanding his shortcomings are two totally different things. What he CAN do, he has the tools to do it well..but what he seems to not be able to do, well..that is a career challenging issue.

You're inserting the howitzer part. That doesn't appear anywhere in the tweet. Obviously he has the right to change his mind if he likes but 16 months ago he was in love with the kid. He's still the same kid. He was just surrounded by horrid offensive talent.

My point was these guys on twitter change their allegiances like they change their underwear. Albright said in October, "If he comes out this year he won't go in the first round. #Bookit". Five months later he says he's going in the Top Five.

That's their job, how often are you going to talk about a talking head if he says the same thing repeatedly until a prospect is drafted...very little and he will be out of a job quickly as well. He is paid to get people talking about HIM and what he tweets, writes/talks about, nothing more. He could care less if he's right, wrong or indifferent. If they are talking about anything he says, he has done his job.

You are welcome to put your eggs in the Allen basket, no one will tell you not to.

Just as I am putting all of mine into the Mayfield basket as the best over all prospect of the 2018 draft.

We won't have an answer for at least a couple of years, but that's where I stand. No one in the media is going to change my mind. I came to that conclusion based on what I have seen and studied, not someone else's opinion. Now, SAS likes to "back up" his opinion by showing what others are saying, I don't see anything wrong with that either. I don't think he formed an "opinion" on Mayfield based on anything someone else said.

Is it the fault of the "horrid offensive talent" that Allen not only incapable of reading a defense presnap, but looks confused when they mask coverage? I watched some plays yesterday, one (I think against Oregon), Allen made his "pre-snap read", the D sent all the linebackers, the RB knew it was available in the flat and had his head turned about 1.5 seconds post snap for Allen to shoot him the ball, as he was the hot wr, Allen just stood there like a 6'5" golden armed statue and took the hit. He didn't even flinch. The horrid offensive talent sure as hell understood what they were supposed to do.

Also, I see nowhere on Mr Albrights tweet where "Allen is the #1 pick, and hands down the best prospect". That's a hell of an inference there.

Hue: "You know he's six-foot, right?"

John: "Damnit Hue... this is happening. Now what do you want off this Dollar Menu?!"

I didn't make any inferences. Everything I attributed to Albright is something he said directly.

    I misread it Beach.

Still, it is silly season, and this happens every year. Saying a guy is not a first round pick, then teams drooling over him in shorts bumping up his stock are not mutually exclusive events.

You can still say he is not a top talent, but that doesn't mean he is not going to be selected as one. Just ask Blaine Gabbert, Blake Bortles, Ryan Tannehil, etc

This post probably will not be a popular one.

I really don't have a preferance for any QB candidate in this draft class. All of the top 4 have pros and cons.

My only wish is that WHOEVER is drafted . . . people don't start a "bang the table" crusade to make him the starter! IMHO, all four of these guys must sit behind the two veterans for AT LEAST the entire 2018 season.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Whichever QB they take will depend on the length of time I'm willing to wait.

    Mayfield/Rosen - 1 season
    Jackson - 2 seasons
    Darnold - 2/3 seasons
    Allen - doesn't matter, won't be a Browns fan

Ugh... just imagine sitting through 1-31 building towards this... and you take the most highly-revered flawed QB prospect ever. That's not hyperbole. Josh Allen's production was so putrid that since 1952, there hasn't been a single NFL starter with his similar production score.

This shouldn't be hard... Josh Allen hype is created in a vacuum by people who cannot critically evaluate the quarterback position. There's no amount of coaching or tutoring that's going to magically create chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. I simple cannot fathom the rumors at #1 - let alone the Top 10 picks.

Yes, someone will take a chance because of a severe supply/demand issue and most likely, because they have a very antiquated scouting department. But forget even my fandom for a minute... could you imagine a GM or HC wanting to have their fate determined by a guy as flat out bad as Josh Allen is?
