I bet Mayfield was never able to see over this guy.............(as per Gideon) (rolls eyes) (Snark font off)
*Checks for 6'9" quarterbacks in the NFL who could see over him* *Remembers that people who think QBs "see" over linemen are idiots* *Laughs a bit* *Then gets sad because he remembers so many people still think QBs "see" over linemen*
Its a tough concept to understand. QBs should be throwing to spots, not to people. If you're throwing to the person you are failing. If only there were a QB in this draft that has not only demonstrated throwing to spots accurately, but spoke of it when asked about dealing with taller lineman.

By Bud Shaw, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio - Hue Jackson says the Browns are in no hurry to play any quarterback they might take in the 2018 draft. And that is a relief. What would it say about a team that made no attempt to keep a veteran around to help smooth the transition so that a season's fortunes didn't rely on the weekly performance of an overmatched kid. Any team doing that must want to be back at the top of the draft the following year, right? "Would we have to [play him]?" Jackson told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine Wednesday about acquiring a rookie in the 2018 draft. "I would hope not." That makes total sense for any team. It makes even more sense since, well, um, you know, the Browns are less than three months removed from sacrificing DeShone Kizer's confidence at the altar of stupidity. The Browns often leave you scratching your head. But instead of revisiting Jackson's role in what's happened at the QB position in the past, we will move on for the sake of everyone's sanity. Jackson was the hot assistant when he was hired. Ready to get on the plane to interview with the Giants, remember, before the Browns hired him. So he had leverage. But no say in the most important position on the field? Really? OK, I said I wasn't going to do this. Moving on. We now have a different front office in Berea, one trying to accumulate wins instead of draft picks and cap space. We can all agree on that much. So Jackson will get a better chance to succeed, presumably with a quarterback who has won some games somewhere along the line instead of three (Kizer, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan) still looking for their first victory formation in the NFL. "That's kind of how you want your room set up," Jackson said. "You want a guy that's been a veteran player that's played in the National Football League that's had a chance to win." Just not Brock Osweiler, apparently. "You'd love to have a young player that you're developing, maybe two of those kind of players in your room." But not three. "And again, the veteran is somebody that those players can learn from. To learn the National Football League, so they can understand what the rigors are. When they're ready to play, the veteran kind of moves on. That's what you hope to have." If only the Browns had finished the 2016 season with a veteran behind center who embraced the idea of mentoring young QBs while also providing a chance to win a few games. A guy like Josh McCown.
Browns head coach Hue Jackson believes Alabama CB Minkah Fitzpatrick can play on the outside. When asked about Fitzpatrick, Jackson simply stated "He can play outside. Yes, he can." Fitzpatrick only spent 13 snaps as an outside corner and stated he feels most comfortable as a slot safety/corner. That's not to say the Browns, or any team, shouldn't evaluate Minkas as an outside player, as the value of that position is much more important. But we've seen the Browns use players in incorrect positions, setting them up to fail, i.e. Jabrill Peppers. How typical of Hue smh
You really don't know how to rationalize a statement, do you? He said he is capable of playing there, in no way shape or form did he say, IF they drafted him, that's where they would play him. I can say with a grand amount of certainty, HUE JACKSON had NOTHING to do with who played what positions on defense...NONE, ZILCH, LESS THAN ZERO input on defensive playing time, position or even roster spot.
John Dorsey: Browns Open to Trading No. 1 Overall Pick in 2018 NFL Draft With two of the first four picks in the 2018 NFL draft, Cleveland Brownsgeneral manager John Dorsey is open to making a trade. Per NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal, Dorsey said the Browns' door is "wide-open" to deal the No. 1 overall pick. "Give me a call and see what's up," he said. Cleveland secured the No. 1 overall pick after going 0-16 last season. It added the Houston Texans' first-round pick last year when the Texans moved up 13 spots to select Deshaun Watson. Predraft prognostications have the Browns selecting a quarterback with their first pick. B/R's Matt Miller has USC star Sam Darnold going to Cleveland at No. 1 overall in his most recent mock draft. The Browns would also have the luxury of using the No. 4 pick on a quarterback if that's the direction they choose to go. Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield are all potential first-round talents. The last time a team traded the No. 1 overall pick was the Tennessee Titans in 2016. They received six picks from the Los Angeles Rams, who used the top pick to select quarterback Jared Goff.
Moving away from QB talk for just a moment... The buzz around Indy today is about Arizona...more specifically, Tyrann Mathieu has an option in his contract that would guarantee him $19M over the next two years. So, either the Cards pick that up, or he may be cut before March 14th... He would instantly become the best S on the market. Here's the key...Mathieu is a player that can play both SS and FS, he has excelled at FS, however, the Cards drafted Budda Baker last year who excelled immediately at FS.. SO, if Tyrann decides not to renegotiate his contract, then the Cards may decide to move on from him.... Anyone want a 25 year old pro bowl safety?
Yes please... One of the dumbest moves the Browns made was passing on him for the DB from San Diego St. a few years ago (I can't even remember his name)....Honey badger went with the very next pick. Cards got a star that was obviously a spectacular talent (though there was baggage), and we got nothing...smh.
In all seriousness, I would be really interested to hear which QB Sashi liked out of this 2018 crop. I'm sure Hue will let us all know his favorite in 2-3 seasons.
